Anyone find anything on this yet? Hotels are basically gone and need to book some flights but not even sure if I should worry about it since we don't know what the standards are going to be and how to get in.
Another reason why Oregon is terrible for hosting these meets every year. Last year at the U20 meet very few events had full fields. Most field events had less then 10 kids. Definitely not worth the expense for a kid. Maybe if USATF reimbursed travel expenses if a kid gets top 3 it would draw more kids.

The U20 meet will have lots of kids this year. Why? Because they are holding the U20 meet the same time as the Nike Outdoor National meet on the same track. Lots of kids will do both meets. After all, they are already in Eugene. So they'll just look at both schedules, and pick one U20 race and one Nike race.

How to get into the USATF U20 meet is easy. You'll just have to fill out an entry form.
I'm not sure what kind of standards USATF may or may not put in place for the U20 meet. In any case, if they are good enough to get into the Nike meet, then they'll be in Eugene that week anyway. So even if they end up not getting into the U20 meet, they will still have a meet in Eugene to run in.
So assuming the U20 portion of the Nike meet is canceled. Zero reason to even have the meet. I am hoping kids and coaches boycott any Nike/USATF meets and go to the New Balance meet. USATF had been screwing kids for years and it won't stop until people quit supporting their organization.
Killing off the World U20 team this year and Nike letting it happen due to expense as the main reason given in response is all the more reason to boycott NON.
Hell its cheaper to fly from Portland, Seattle, Cali to New Balance meet in Philadelphia with cheaper hotels and air fares than fly to Eugene and pay exorbitant hotel prices.

Exactly and USATF is turning into a joke. Especially with the recent stunt at the youth indoor. My club has no interest in supporting this organization.
