I'm guessing the deep team is the reason that he is going there. If he were motivated by winning mid conferences, he would have stopped trying to improve once he became good enough to win MIAC. He probably chose Montana to get faster, not to win.

Major blunder in Northfield this afternoon. Heat 1 of the Men's 800 had all their results wiped out after the starters started the race from the WRONG LINES. Gabe Estrada had a won the race in what was initially listed as a 1:51 (now wiped away) albeit with running about 7-10 fewer meters than he should have, but either way, officials errors like that should not be acceptable. As a result, it looks like Tommy Allen will not have a mark good enough to qualify in the open 800 either. Fast finish results has long done a poor job with many meets on the MIAC calendar, but this may be a new low.
That's not a Fast Finish issue. That's a meet management issue. Another Power failure. Always seems to have issues at his meets. Didn't they make up 200m times two years ago?
If I'm Estrada I quit today. What a shame.
You do not know what you’re talking about. The starter explicitly told us to start on the 2 turn 400 stagger. It’s not fast finish it’s not power. It’s the official. They botched the women’s 800 heats too. the blame lies squarely on the official who lined the athletes up incorrectly even when we asked for clarification.
Tucker still got his miac time in a rerun
Who was in charge of the meet? Power. All blame lies squarely on him.
How was Tucker able to rerun. Is that even legal? I'm sure other MIAC coaches will protest it.
Me when I don’t know ball
Coming soon - shirts from the Harrier denoting 789m and 780m runs.
Wonder if Power cleared the advertisement with his boss. May have to drop an email and ask what their policy is. New coach for the Oles by MIAC’s?
Based on what our coaches said, we won't be coming back to St. Olaf meets. There is always an issue, they hire a terrible timing company, we don't trust Power to not do shady things to help his athletes with seeds and heats, and he's beyond arrogant as a meet host. Someone needs to remind him he didn't win XC coach of the year for a reason. Maybe he should focus on hosting better meets and being nicer to visiting teams and he may awards for how fast his athletes are.
Power's failure at life in general aside, there are more important topics to cover.
MIAC picks -
Team title - Bethel by 100 points, then the Johnnies and Gustavus. The battle for fourth will be interesting with Olaf, Scholastica, and Concordia all in the mix.
Every sprint event will be won by a Bethel athlete and I'm going to say Lelinga starts his four year 800 win streak now.
1500 - Calvin edges Gabe with Lynness sprinting by a host of Oles.
5000m - Kelly leads and Bati wins. He is a different runner now and looks more like XC season Bati. Gabe and Roy pass Kelly in the final 50. Dave puts both their faces on a new Hawaiian shirt.
10,000 - The Oles go out at 14:50 pace and David Lynn holds on for third. Lars tops Bati but doesn't get the national qualifier.
Steeple - Kelly and Fitzgerld hold hands and finish together not knowing that is illegal and are both DQ'ed. Like Lelinga, Goss starts his four-yet reign of terror at Hamline. Don't worry Ole, Estrada gets third behind McKee.
4 x 800 - Carleton and St. Scholastic battle until the last leg, but a 1:52 from Calvin is too hot for Ash and St. Scholastica wins again. The Gusties and Oles battle for 3rd, but the duo of Smith and Bruer is too much for the Oles as Coffey chokes on a Zyn and runs a respectable 2:03 anchor leg.
Okay, so maybe I was a bit off with my earlier predictions—I was smoking dick! Uh oh, my bad... Turns out, I might've been a bit wonky from not having any poopy in my pants. Now that I poopy my pants. Let's dive into the real deal with these MIAC predictions.
Team Title
Winner: St. Thomas surprises everyone with a comeback victory, snatching the team title from the ones who tolerate same-sex relationships.
100m & 200m: MTV's Dan Cortez
400m: Some dude from Bethel named JIMMY
800m: In an extraordinary display of tactical brilliance, Estrada from St. Olaf takes the win by running just 785 meters.
1500m: The ole pack do their pack running thing and each run just fast enough to not make nationals. LOL. Calvin Boone and Gabe finish 1-2 respectfully and face their behinds to Bethel team camp as a display of dominance. MONKE OOOOH OOOH OOOH MONKE
5000m: OH YE ZADDY
10,000m: Grant Graber
Steeplechase: The Secretariat
PS: I like to poopy in my pants.
Carleton women's XC team got recognized at a Twins game for the national's W. Donna Ricks threw the first pitch. It was an eephus that dropped in for a strike.
why did a miac nocontext page just follow me
Power was seen trundling through the Arb this morning. I’d hesitate to really call it anything ambulatory but it seems he’s trying to figure out the sport so he can make across an infield during the 4 x 400.
What if instead of track and field it was called track and freak, and instead of competing for the team title everyone just competed for each other's affection by sucking toes?
And all for love, and nothing for reward.
4 x 800’s better be hot based on 2:04 guys and 4:17 guys making the meet.
Maybe rival the 2017 group as the deepest? No way anyone is touching the 7:33/7:34 Northfield duo though.
The Johnnies are going to make Power pay for the travesty of 800m officiating with a 1:53 anchor from Mongo.
Is it true Grove scratched because the Johny sprinter laid a hit stick on him at Tommy?
Carleton sweeps not only miacs but also nationals in this scenario
