Yeah, I think the pressure was released for Mu and her coach just said have fun and run how you feel. Clearly she was on form and could have run even faster given her lane two positioning. Awesome.
It is NOT proof of that at all. Mu had not been racing and she was not sharp. Here she was. Plus she was closer to home here. There is a lot going on that your silly comment doesn’t account for.
She wasn’t in lane 2. She was on the outside of 1, which I think is an acceptable strategy. At Worlds she was in 2, and that wasn’t smart. That being said, so many people badmouthed her after Worlds. I’m glad she bounced back today. You can tell it meant a lot to her.

For the record the thread title was changed. I said nothing about lane 2. I posted the thread right before the race as a prediction that Athing would win.
This race was proof she beat herself, mentally, at worlds. Couldn’t handle the pressure. Now that it’s gone, she thrives.
Not so good. Just barely eeks out a win on home turf where Keely wasn't even sharp. Add a touch of pressure and she's completely done
Uumm she won gold on the world’s biggest stage at the last Olympics as a 19 year old. Yes you’re right. Clearly she doesn’t do well under pressure in big events. SMH.
