The US has serious medal threats in Fisher and Nuguse now. Really exciting heading into the Olympics next year and LA 2028.
7:25 is crazy because even in the beginning of the season he didn't look close to as good as he was last year. I wanna see Fisher vs Nuguse in a 3k this indoor season.
Recent Canadian record broken twice by Kieran Lumb, with the most recent being 7:36.46. Grant is at least an honorary Canadian, and it would be cool to get the extra 10+ second drop, but that is not how it works.
Mile-3k can be considered middle distance. Yared has established himself probably as potentially the greatest us middle distance runner of all time (still has to medal).
Grant on the other hand has established himself as potentially the greatest us distance runner of all time (PR’s speak for himself 3k-10k, but still has to medal).
C’mon guys, we’re on the same team here. Maybe “specifics” will clear up the banter.
There’s a huge difference between a miler and a 10k guy, (with the exception of POTENTIALLY jakob)
Funny he disappears with an “injury” during worlds and usa’s but now is back it going faster than ever. Surely nothing nefarious going on.
He didn’t disappear. He raced and had a stress reaction in his femur. The amount of fitness he maintained cross training shows how dedicated this dude is. A few tactical errors in 2022 at worlds cost him a medal. I have no doubt this dude is clean, hard working, focused, and will medal in 2024 and 2025.
Omg. Easily greatest American runner all time. What an incredible performance. Out of this world!!
Important to remember that “faster” does not always = “greater”. In terms of times, yes of course. In terms of accomplishments and racing legacy? Not yet comparable to a host of American runners that have come before him.
