does anyone know where NB will hold their 2024 Indoor Nationals? rumors abound...Reggie Lewis, VA Beach, Ocean Breeze, combination of Boston area facilities? with NCAA Div 1 at the new NB facility, that's out.
After the disaster that NB Outdoor was I hope they can figure out how to run a better meet. From the sound of many coaches that were in Phili they will be avoiding the NB meets in the future if things don't bet better fast
It ran well? Hours behind schedule (even if you forget the rain delay) each day. The non stop annoying announcer, lots of dead time between heats, constant changes in the schedule without really telling anyone what was happening, too many people with microphones (guy 1 - let's clap him up....... right after that a 2nd guy quiet for the start), 50+ in the championship HJ, one off the throws got so far behind they had to finish it the next day then when parents who had kids win medals they had to buy a ticket to get into the stadium for the award ceremony (they had 1 for the day before when the event was held but it was not honored just top come in for the award ceremony), almost every section of the 800 and to be called back.
I know a number of officials who said they would not be back as they felt they were treated like crap (worked long hours made longer by the constant delays and dead time) and given the same cold sandwich each day as a meal (if you got 1 at all)
The meet was way too big and the NB people and Trials of Miles were in way over their heads
I was never so happy for a meet to be over and I pass on going to the NB meet indoor I will take my team to the Armory
Why would they hold the NB Indoor Nationals anywhere other than their big shiny new expensive indoor track facility? That's one of the reasons they have their own facility. Pure profit.
NBNO always ran behind schedule, at least when I was in high school. The fields are bloated, and high school kids aren’t as easy to corral as collegiates that have years of experience.
Personally the only thing I would really like to see would be some tightening of the standards. That would solve most of the issue. Kids have gotten faster, why are the standards getting slower? When I was in high school, you had to run like 1:52, 4:12, 9:08 to get in. Now it’s 1:54, 4:16, 9:15? Even though there are more kids running fast times than ever before? Drop the individual standards to at least pre-covid levels (ideally faster) and that probably solves their only issue.
it was really bad this year, and they did a HORRIBLE job of updating new APPROXIMATE times after things were moved for weather. Being a couple hours off without making note of it is completely unacceptable.
Heard from a reliable source that the meet will be held like this:
NB Facility
Friday - NCAAs day 1
Saturday - NCAAs day 2
Sunday - NBN Finals day
Reggie Lewis Center
Thursday - NBNI Day 1
Friday - NBNI Day 2
Saturday - NBNI Day 3
Why wouldn't they just move the high school meet to the weekend after the NCAA Championships?
honestly, indoor training pushes into outdoor track way too much as it is. another week would be really annoying. whether at Reggie Lewis, or pushed a week back, Nike might be cleaning up this year.

honestly a distance runners focus should be the Arcadia 3200 which comes 3 weeks later. NB indoor nationals could help you get a good time to get into either the seeded or invitational 3200 for Arcadia

and you don't have to run the 2 mile at new balance. If you run a 4:05 mile at new balance for example, that should get you in the invite.
Reggie Lewis center appears to be NOT banked and only fits 500 spectators. how can this work?
It is banked - for years the NBIGP was held there with some very fast times. But the bank is very gentle. As far as seating. A bit more than 500 but no way can host a meet the size of NBIN
