nothing to discus you're right
thats why he celebrated so much
That was class. Not surprised but you can tell that time meant a lot to him. When he is at his best, no one can beat him, at least no one right now this year !!!
Been hearing this after every Jakob PR since he was like 16. Yawn
Been hearing this since he was 13 yo, now he is 22 and he ran 3:27.95 while smiling
I bet its an american posting this bs....the jealousy is showing.
Shot, javelin, and hammer
you may be right ... but 3:27.95 is pretty damn fast!
These types of posts almost feel like they are automatically AI generated immediately after Jakob runs a great time. 0/10
I think he can still drop 2 seconds on a fast track like Monaco.
1/10
ok
1500m Olympic gold medalist, 1500m world athletics silver medalist and 5000m world champion holding the 2 mile record Jakob Ingebrigtsen only had a 3:27 pB in the 1500.
Pb today, no need to write off further improvement given he seems to always peak when it counts snd he has many races left this season
Olympic 1500m Gold
World 5k Gold
12:48 5k
7:54 2-mile world record
3:27.95 1500m
3:31 1500m at 17 years old
He could retire today and be a top two 1500m/5k guy ever (along with El G)
Lagat is far superior.
Ingebrigtsen is hella accomplished for sure, but he is not a top 2 1500/5000 runner. He needs at least another Olympic Gold or world record to surpass Lagat. At present, I might even say that Gebrselassie was a better overall 1500 / 5000 runner (yeah, light on the 1500 but his best 1500/mile was still solid and he's an all-timer at 5k).
why? lagat have neither had a world record or olympic gold himself and has a slower pb in the 5000m. He have 11 races under 3.30 in the 1500m and Jakob have 7 as of now and will probably have more by the end of season.
Jakob will NEVER run 3:22! He’s just not good enough.
Honestly I think the above post is the proper response to the thread. I don’t think he can ever get the WR, I do think he will likely run faster, but 3:27.95 is so damn fast and nothing is guaranteed in this sport. You can’t hold top form or keep improving forever.
He could never PR again and still become a top-3 1500 runner of all time, never mind all the 5k championships he could win.
Agreed. I wonder why the OP would even start a thread like this. An Olympic champion sets a PB and breaks through a significant time barrier in front of his home crowd, and instead of just congratulating him, a hater says he’ll never run faster. WTH!
I guess you know a runner has done well when the only criticisms someone can think of are a) he’s doping or b) he’ll never run faster.
