I think he had the strategy last few races of just going to the back, hugging the rail, and picking people off. Today looks like he went out with the intention of racing the top end of the pack aggressively but didn't have the fitness to be pulling moves on the outside of the bend in a 3:34 paced race.
Don't think he's any less fit than LA, just more ambitious and bit off more than he could chew.
The meet was also in Gresham because Griswold Stadium is closed for renovations right now. Now PTF issue. Crowd was good, beer tent solid, unipiper flame thrower fun.
there was a burrito truck right by the Bowerman pop up tent which 10/10 excellent planning by the meet organizers.
