Kerr wins 800. Centro last in the 1500. Hocker 2nd behind Amon Kemboi, 3:34:12 to 3:34:14. Theory--Centro ran to bring in the fans and up the PPV numbers. And guessing it worked.

I mean what’s the conspiracy, he ran well in LA and has in the past run great at this meet. Seems like he just didn’t have it today, the meets in his backyard

Was not there and did not see due to other commitments but looks like he ran well until final lap. No conspiracy, but not an important meet. He is surely training through. 43, 57.8, 57.3, 60.0 Others will chime in on how he looked. 4th, then 5th, then 6th then 13th

At 800, I thought this might be a breakthrough race for Centro. He was in the perfect Centro position, like the old days, but he’s just not strong enough yet.

Unless I missed news of his U.S. citizenship, Kemboi still runs for Kenya. No need to list USA Q after his name.
Good early June performance from Josh kerr. Interesting in his 3.29.05 year it was discussed on here and I heard about it from others that he did a work out which was 55.5 then down to 50.5 - for a 1.46 - in training. He had pacers but just goes to show shape he was in that year. Hope another 6-8 weeks of speed work and he’s down to 1.44 shape and back down below 3.30
Centro was way more aggressive than in LA. Didn't hang out at the back and ran most of the first two laps on the outside trying to move up the field. Was still in 4th or 5th tucked in until the last 200 when his legs died.
I think he had the strategy last few races of just going to the back, hugging the rail, and picking people off. Today looks like he went out with the intention of racing the top end of the pack aggressively but didn't have the fitness to be pulling moves on the outside of the bend in a 3:34 paced race.
Don't think he's any less fit than LA, just more ambitious and bit off more than he could chew.
The meet was also in Gresham because Griswold Stadium is closed for renovations right now. Now PTF issue. Crowd was good, beer tent solid, unipiper flame thrower fun.
there was a burrito truck right by the Bowerman pop up tent which 10/10 excellent planning by the meet organizers.

Centro can't be in the top ever again at nationals. There are too many strong 1500 men. So happy for Hocker.
