There are plenty of threads for you to celebrate the recent WR in the 1500m.... not a single runner in the US can run 3:49. Tuohy is a US runner with fans. Maybe head to one of those threads?
I am talking about other US women runners at this NCAA meet running world caliber times silly. SMH…..didn’t say in the 1500.
I get that ... but those are sprinters - 800m.
Tuohy is running 1500m -5k. There are no women in the US (or in the NCAA) within even 15 seconds of either WR. Alicia Monson is 25 seconds off the 5k WR. So, being close to the distance WR is kind of irrelevant. She has fans as an up and coming US distance runner.
Concerned for Tuohy. I had a feeling something was up from that press conference and some of her races ... and the whole NCst team frankly. Is she overtraining? I wonder what gives. Those paces should hace been fine for someone in 4:06 shape.

I don’t know about the whole team (Chmiel as an example, ran about what would be expected in the 10,000m).
Tuohy though? Disappointing, sure. However, I’ve said a few times, I firmly believe she’s been training through this entire season, with the focus on USATF, at the jeopardy of NCAAs apparently (I don’t think the coaching staff saw THAT one coming. I sure didn’t. I thought she’d still win).
I think most of us Tuohy fans will admit we’ve all always known (or at least felt), that the 1500/mile is actually not Tuohy’s best event. It’s the 5000m.
Let me see, almost every time she has raced this past year she either won a championship or set a collegiate record. Not much that much better than everyone else? WTF???
lol let me debunk your argument with almost no research.
First 5k title: Valby impressively pushed the pace for Tuohy
XC title: Valby absolutely pushed the pace here and led again
Indoor 5k: Sat on Alabama to win
Indoor 3k: took the lead with 800 to go?
mile record: rightfully sat behind pros
5k record: understandably gapped by pros
My point definitely stands. She most likely would not win front running majority of the race. I would love to see it but there isn't any evidence that she is that dominant yet. Doesn't mean she isn't the favorite to win both races but she most likely loses if she tries to lead the whole race.
Life advice here:
When debating. Ending your point with a question and some expletives won't make your point any more correct lol. Actually debate and prove your point or people with real research/evidence/objectiveness will always beat you. It's like you were looking for an echo chamber lol. Maybe now reality will hit some of you guys. Tuohy is still probably the best overall runner in the ncaa distance wise but there is a ton of competition and she just needs to race normally. There was no way she was going to front-run BOTH races. When I said that you guys lost it lol. Just be realistic with your favorite runner that is all.
P.S. the very unrealistic expectations from fans or followers only adds to her pressure
My original point was that she isn't good enough to win a NCAA title leading wire to wire. I proved that's been the case.
actually all you proved is she has not done (nor apparently tried to do) that. Has nothing to do with whether she has been good enough (or not good enough) to do that.
You are correct. She has a handful of fans who believed that she could front run 2 races. They still believe that she could have won the 5k so there isn't anything that facts will do to convince them otherwise.
