28. mai: 1500 meter i Rabat (Marokko) 15. juni: 1500 meter på Bislett Games (Oslo) 30. juni: 1500 meter i Lausanne (Sveits) 16. juli 1500 meter i Silesia (Polen)
World Championship: 18–28. august.
Between the meet in Silesia and WC, JI will go back to altitude training.
Yeah, Jakob is running the Rabat 1500 from all indications. I wonder if that is why Tim Cheruiyot is racing LA Grand Prix and not in Rabat. The Coffee Club heard a rumor that Jakob has in the past requested no Tim in the field. This would be kinda a crazy spot for Girma to debut at 5,000 and much as I'd like to see him run it, I think he can do something special in the Steeple.
McSweyn might be "due" for a PB, but he pulled out of the Doha 3K after a couple laps.
It's true, and there always seems to be something when he runs a 5K.
I think that 12:56 in Brussels last year was the 5k PB he was due for. Season’s bests:
2018 - 13:05
2019 - 13:05
2020 - 13:09
2021 - 13:05
2022 - 12:56
And he turns 28 in 2 weeks so by no means is he old, but he’s no longer a youngster in athletics terms. There’s a real chance that 12:56 will be his lifetime best. He’s certainly better at 1500 than 5k.
It has been the rumour for some now regarding Jakob. I believe the reason that Girma will not be present is a wr attempt in Rabat 4 days previous with he and El Bakkali.

Ok thanks.
Regarding Lamecha Girma and Selemon Barega, Elite Running Team do a good job in saying when their athletes are scheduled to race.
Lamecha: 9 June - 3000SC Paris; 30 June - 5000 Lausanne
Selemon: 15 June - 5000 Oslo; 30 June - 5000 Lausanne
Keep in mind it was recently announced the Ethiopian 10000m trails will be 18 June in Hawassa.
This unfortunately looks like Lamecha and Soufiane will not race each other in Rabat, perhaps the latter not wanting to take on Lamecha Girma in front of the home crowd. It was an epic race last year and would have been nice to see them duel again in Rabat but not to be this year perhaps.

I think he could run a little faster than 12:56, but agree he’s already had his major breakthrough and might not PB in the 5k again. The 3k is his best event, unfortunately, but he’s still an excellent miler, certainly good enough to sneak a medal on his best day. Age isn’t on his side, but he did run the 2nd fastest 1500 of his career last year after a rough start, so I’m hopeful he can return to his 2021 form and make the Budapest final feeling good.
He hasn’t had the best start, but it’s hard to write somebody off who salvaged a nightmare season with 3:30, 7:31, and 12:56 after opening in 3:48.
I’ll be honest I’d forgotten he’d hit that 12:56. While I think he’s probably maximally a 12:51-2 guy that’s closer than I thought he’d be. I don’t think a medal is plausible for him in the 1500 to be honest. His best route is something like Katir’s race at Worlds last year. But even there Katir showed a stronger and more forceful finish (getting by Tim) than we typically see from McSweyn.
It is still possible These are Provisional NOT Final Start List's, A few Athletes will drop and a Few will be added if Jakob or Jacob want to run they will run , no meet director would refuse them, Kincaid and the Ugandan 1500 Runner and others can still be added.

In spite of the talented field I can't see them running any faster than 3:57 and I'll guess 3:59 or slower.
It's too early in the season and I think they won't want to peak too early.
Slower than Doha? It’s possible, but the meet is in June and not that far from National Trials. I think 3:55-3:57 winning time is more likely than 3:59+
1. katir is a wildcard. could see him running mid 12:40s. he literally also broke the world indoor 3k record in the same race is girma, and i would consider him far more consistent and predictable in a flat race than girma. he’s already a proven talent in the 5k.
2. no lobalu is unfortunate. guy is a massive talent.

Why would Kincaid get in? This is a top tier race and he's a guy who doesn't have any decent results on the international stage. It's so difficult to get into DL races and even though he's known in US distance running circles, he's not a name at all globally, even compared to someone like Grijalva who at least has that 4th place at Worlds.
If he's lucky, Kincaid might get a spot in one of the less competitive DL 5ks, like Oslo or Paris.
Kipyegon, Muir, Mageean, Hull, DeBues-Stafford, Maclean, Welteji, Hailu, Meshesha, Caldwell. A 4:00-4:01 could see you come tenth.

Historically the top athletes are ready to run fast early in the DL season. For just one relevant example, last year’s Pre Classic was run 5 days earlier than the upcoming Rome DL and Kipyegon beat Tsegay 3:52 to 3:54, with 9th place being 4:00.34 (Cory McGee in her lifetime best). And Kipyegon just ran 3:58.57 with a 58.7 last 400 in Doha which clearly shows she’s ready to run well under 3:57. So your post is honestly phooey.

We'll have to wait and see....
I hope I'm wrong and it ends up quicker than my guess.
As a fan of USA T&F I am rooting for Grand Fisher.
Understand he and Mo have been trading in Eugene and haven’t done an altitude camp this spring so it will be interesting to see how they fare off of sea level training.
