Varsity typically runs 75-80 mpw for upperclassman. He ran at my home invite and is indeed tiny. Belen kids are great kids who work extremely hard. They have so many you have to figure everyday at practice is a war.

Well a lot of people are more interested in following high school XC than college XC, and don’t care about what happens to people post high school.
Who’s transferring out? Socarras?
I remember someone made and deleted a thread that he will be transferring to Christopher Columbus. He will make that team stronger.
But still, Belen will have enough depth to win NXR SE
4:26 in the mile
Belen is #4 in the national preseason rankings
If true, very curious how many do this and at what point of the year/season? I know another program in the area, Columbus, did mileage in that range or higher, but typically I believe Belen topped out a little lower than that. Running that mileage in So. Fla on largely hard surfaces where there are few breaks in heat/humidity is quite challenging. Belen is a great program, with a long history and good people attached to it. I did not go there but competed against them, and they have always been a class act with top notch teams.

The comments should be "great job! Lets try to improve 1 second per lap for the next 9 years." By then when he's out of college he could be a really good pro runner. But for now its try to break 9:10 next season and then break 9:00 the next and so on.
Already a top returner for Belen Jesuit injured.. next man up.
Which top runner is injured?
And which one is transferring out?
Check their IG from Flagstaff 2 Month camp..
They go to flagstaff for two months!?
This article is from last year when they spent a month training in Flagstaff, similar to NP, except that the latter didn't have to get away from mid-90s and off the charts humidity in the summer. I also saw that Belen Jesuit's coach (who had 13 state titles as of last year) created a xc course for the team, so I take it that means they don't have to do all their runs on the track or the concrete around the school.
Is that even kosher per FHSAA rules? I thought you weren't allowed to have summer practice with the coach present.
wow - 9:17 is a Wiley-type result
His PR is actually 9:14
people actually think an 8th grader is doping?
Yea seems kinda insane.
For an 8th grader to decide on their own would be borderline sociopathic, and for someone else to coerce them would basically be abuse lol
8th grade
9:14!
Wiley

What the f does that have to do with anything? Your about as retarded as they come. Guess I get so fed up with this bs as a parent of a top kid who has had why to many rumors started about him. Some of you need to learn the 90's and early 2000's called said theres new ways to train and some coaches have stuff figured out.
