you can see him looking up at the massive video board which was in front of him. He saw on the video board that he was about to get passed, so he jumped in front of the guy.
You are absolutely right but in the "track world" some people don't know what racing really is! Why make it easy to get by? Blow by me!
Yeah and if you can't stop a faster athlete from passing you by deliberately barging into their path then simply grab their ankle or tug on their vest as they're passing, why make it so easy am I right?

Meh, not the same.
I was obviously being facetious, but barging into someone's lane is still using your body to stop a competitor from finishing as fast as they otherwise would have; not a huge moral leap from that to pulling a vest. The fact that there is no contact in the former is purely down to the impeded athlete making an effort to avoid them. In fact it often does end in contact, as that marathon finish a couple of weeks ago showed and a big collision at euro indoors last week.

Yes, I appreciate your sarcasm and raise it: we should allow knives, brass knuckles, and guns, too. Track needs to be more of a hybrid of roller derby and street fighting.
Anderson never looks back between the final curve and the finish line and had a huge lead prior to the final curve. He either had no idea anyone was so close and simply ran a horrible line, or he impeded intentionally based on the sound of the approaching runner. Probably the former, not that it should really matter in regard to the DQ.

bad racing and bad coaching
Gotcha, totally forgot about that. He should probably get lighter shades so he can better judge how much space he has when cutting people off.
