Did Washington beat the WR or is one of the guys not American
Lumb appears to be Canadian. So maybe Washington should also look at who they give their scholarships too (isn’t Fay also Irish)
Messaoudi is from Morocco, Mahadi is from Qatar, Lumb is from Canada and Fay is from Ireland. Why does it matter if they're all from outside the US? @americanman saw nothing wrong with the Washington lineup because they're all white. I think we should more often call out and denounce racism on these boards when we see it. No matter where you're from, getting financial support to go to university here is a HUGE privilege and opportunity to improve one's life. Given our country's long immigration history, that seems pretty American to me at its core.
somehow i don't think that messaoudi and mahadi originate from oklahoma, or from anywhere near. couldn't they have given those scholarships to a talented runner from or around oklahoma?

because the only guy to go sub 15 from Oklahoma in recent years was Isai Rodriguez

Most likely this is Clay Mayes (OSU walk on about a decade+ ago). Every time an OSU thread pops up about Dave or any of the athletes he gets on here attacking them and saying it’s wrong for non-Americans to get scholarships. The guy is just xenophobic and bitter at Dave that he didn’t do better as a runner.
It matters for record purposes because you can not set the WR with multiple nationalities on the same relay squad. Obviously NCAA records can be set with mixed squads.
Finishing that far ahead of the old college record and being beaten by a fraction of a second in the race shows they were not overrated at all, and in fact, if they run it again at nationals, who is to say that the same result will happen.
Washington Depth Matters more at NCAAs. A lot of teams will be weaker when their top stars are in the open events, especially the Mile. So even if Wascomb is in the Mile, rather than using him tired and making him tired. They have other pieces that can be put in. And, trying to draw conclusions on difference of 0.0x is to have blinders on
Three of Washington’s four runners—Joe Waskom, Daniel Gaik & Cass Elliott are local state of Washington products, while Kieran Lumb is from Vancouver BC.
For some strange reason, the DMR isn’t a world record event indoors, but it is outdoors.
