They led through 3 legs (fastest 1200 and 800 splits) and broke the old collegiate record without their two 3:52 guys even being on the team.

Don’t the OK state guys do very little faster running? as opposed to Washington that does a lot of speed work? Would be interested to know more about training of these guys.

What makes you say Washington does lots of speed work? Their training is very much endurance based.

Their xc season makes me think they are not aerobically based.

anyone paying attention would rank Dave Smith ahead of Mike Smith any day of the week.

What Dave Smith has achieved at OSU is more impressive than Mike Smith at NAU because altitude is the biggest advantage. Mike Smith also didn't build is dynasty, he inherited it.

Dave Smith has had 10x the success with women including Kaela Edwards and Sinclaire Johnson. Both were NCAA champions and NCAA record holders. Don't forget NCAA champion Taylor Roe as well.

somehow i don't think that messaoudi and mahadi originate from oklahoma, or from anywhere near. couldn't they have given those scholarships to a talented runner from or around oklahoma?

They have many Oklahomans on both the men's and women's team. One of them ran the 400 split here. I'd say around 2/3 of their roster are Oklahoma/Texas athletes.
