Well then, the fact she stayed at Alabama, coming back from injury, to perform well this past fall, is an indication she liked the departing Alabama coaches. It wasn’t until it was confirmed they were leaving that she entered the transfer portal.
If I recall correctly Will Palmer credited his wife for much of the women's team success, no? S maybe it is the loss of that coaching team and comfort with a F coach?
Tyynismaa will not be able to compete this indoor season for NC State. There is no waiver or appeal. We will see her outdoor: Here's the NCAA Rule below.
14.5.5.3 Competition in Year of Transfer. A transfer student from a four-year institution who has received a waiver of or qualifies for an exception to the transfer residence requirement (per Bylaw 14.5.5.2) shall not be eligible for competition in which the student-athlete's performance could be used for NCAA championship qualification or consideration if the student-athlete participated in competition at the previous four-year institution in the same sport in which the student-athlete's performance could have been used for NCAA championship qualification or consideration. (Adopted: 1/10/95 effective 8/1/95, Revised: 1/14/97 effective 8/1/97, 4/29/04 effective 8/1/04, 5/1/19 effective 8/1/19)

I did note on her IG annoucement she said "Spring"
I’m excited to announce that I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at NC State University this spring. Go pack!
It turns out that Amaris Tyynismaa's father graduated from NC State. I'm surprised it took her this long to transfer to NC State.

Actually she spent a lot of time with the NC State women in Boston when they raced and decided then she wanted to transfer.

without knowing the exact timeline of all events related to the transfer I don't think charges of tampering should be thrown around.
Earlier in the thread someone mentioned NC State always gets a grad transfer…well you would be right again. My sources (hahahaha) tell me a very significant, yet under-the-radar grad transfer will be joining the Pack next fall. Not my story to tell, but she has previously qualified to NCAA xc as an individual. let even more hate begin!!

Wow. It’s getting crazy at the top of the lineup - if Chmiel, Bush, and Starliper are also back next fall (hopefully). And now Tyynismaa. But they would lose 3 of those after 2023, due to exhausting eligibility. So they need to stockpile the talent for 2024.
So your point is that NC State has lower SAT scores than all of these schools and significantly below Stanford, Michigan, Notre Dame, Georgetown, UVA, and Northwestern. Thanks for pointing out what we all knew. NC State is an average academic institution when it comes to the qualifying teams and the majority of the women on the team could not be admitted to Stanford, Michigan, Notre Dame, Georgetown, UVA, or Northwestern.
It’s like when Kevin Durant went from the Thunder to the Warriors. Instead of working to beat the champions that knocked his team out of the playoffs he sold out and joined then instead. It’s called the easy route and why these younger generations are disrespecting competitive sports.
