Some of you don’t seem to grasp how talented Leo and Lex are. Jones is a great runner but when he ran his 14:22, he beat some mid-8:50s guys by less than 10 seconds. A pair of 8:30 guys might not be so easy for Jones. If Aaron is at the top of his game, I don’t see anyone besides the twins beating him either

I agree the NP runners are incredible. I just don’t lightly set aside the possibility that someone else might be too.
It’d be better for the future of US running if the twins are that good and so is someone else.
At least of the Young's is gonna go into nationals having broken Woodward Park's record at state finals. I would value that over any other result barring some ludicrous sub 14:05 5K result this year.
Last year people thought like Riley Hough was going to beat all 4 NP runners or something dumb. Instead he got gapped because they had Aaron Sahlman to push the pace for 2 miles and then the other 3 were ready for it, so they easily stayed up with him.
I think their biggest wildcard going in should be Sahlman's fitness. If he can repeat his job of last year and stretch the field for a good chunk of the race, the Young's will destroy everyone. If he can't, then there is a small chance Jones breaks their 1-2 I think.

The Youngs will be pushing the pace, not Aaron Sahlman.
