His random "F**k Mason Ferlic" comment made me laugh.. All jokes aside, this entire podcast is a bad look for him. He discussed his beef with Centro and wanting to annoy him (?) when he joins the team. and when a host mentioned BTC's culture he said "we'll fix that". I know that Cooper is unbelievably talented, but WOW has he shown some entitlement towards a team whose 5000 guys would put 100m on him in a race.
Cooper Teare sounds extremely immature in this interview. He is 2 years older than Jakob Ingebrigtsen but sounds like he is 10 years younger. I thought some personal growth was some of the benefits by doing the whole college and team running shtick.
I listened to the podcast. A lot of growing up to do at 23 years old, adjust vocabulary, learn humility (fast), think before you speak. Don’t do interviews until you master these basic abilities.
Also brags about getting drunk etc. Wtf is this attitude?

The guys interviewing him were much, much worse. Not really a huge deal, you can picture guys talking like this amongst themselves, but you just can't talk like this when it is going out for public consumption. He should know better and be able to laugh off the questions and redirect.
Humility will come on the track. The fact is, there's a lot of guys younger than him who are 15-20 seconds faster over 5000 and 4 seconds faster over 1500. He's still in big college star mode which needs to shift because he's still a mid-packer on the global stage. A few workouts getting rinsed by Fisher will show him how far he has to go, then the big talk can start
Sometimes I think about all the immature posts here, the trolls, lies, insults, false accusations, etc...and think what type of people are behind them. The several minutes listening to that podcast are exactly what I picture they would act and sound like.
BTC will be adjustment. It's all well and good when you're the star of the New Generation T&F bubble, still living in a college town, worshipped by HS kids but when he gets with the men on Bowerman I think he'll self correct; it's all talk. I cannot imagine him going on about half of the lame hot takes he just spewed in front of Grant, Marc, Lopez, Mo, Centro (dear god) or Jerry (dear god x infinity), etc.
As for his hatred: Centro is a bit of a baby sometimes but he has a medal and you can't argue with that. Ferlic... well at least he is getting a PhD, that alone puts his intelligence several standard deviations higher than what Cooper just displayed.
Takeaway: as another has posted, it's the kind of conversation that is best kept off the Internet. everyone wants to start podcasts and thinks they are having these amazingly interesting and authentic conversations that just must be shared with the general public. almost always they are wrong.
The Diamond League came to an end with a festival in Zurich that saw a massive shot by Joe Kovacs, world leaders by Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Emmanuel Korir, and statistically the fastest 100m run by Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. Thr...

Grant Fisher can and hopefully will teach him all of those things.
That was one god awful interview. Cooper Talks like a high schooler. I tried listening to his podcast with Emma Abrahamson once and could barely get through 5 minutes. Hopefully the big boys at BTC bully this 12 year old personality out of him.

Usually when I see threads like this where people are piling on about a runner who gave a poor interview, in most cases I go back to the interview and think letsrunners are exaggerating. Definitely not in this case, most of the comments are spot on, including yours. The only thing that is clear from his interview is that he has growing up to do.
