Are you serious, this race was 1:52.5/2:50.8, if he gets in , in 41 he runs under 3:32..the pace was way fast enough to run faster . It kind of is what it is..you want to give him another 1.5-2.0 seconds? I am never giving that away.
hobbs actually did not run well. 3:44. The pace was hot and Hobbs tried to go with it but couldn't handle it. His strength is just not quite there yet but his speed is good.
Are you still doubting that Yared is due for a 3:31-3:32 in a fast race or do you recant?

Dead serious. He was only three tenths from 3:32 and he won easily.

I saw nothing, so could not even comment on that. And no excuses from me..no ideas...

So> You are one of those? 3:32.9 is NOT 3:32.0, they are much much different
It isn’t surprising. Hocker was rounding into form (3:50 at Pre), got injured, and is slowly building back to shape. This 3:35 is actually his best result since Pre. He ran 3:42 at an all-comers meet in august, then 3:38 last week and 3:35 today. It isn’t surprising seeing as he’s coming back from injury.

When did I say 3:32.0?

He was a second away from 3:32.3 of good set up fractions, it is what it is
its no even near 3:31, and 3:32.9 is 3:32.9 NOT 3:32 ....3:32 is 3:32.0 Not sure how you count tenths, I always loved guys who said well he ran 3:32.. when someone may have run 3:32.96...

Hard to look at this negatively for Hocker. Beat a bunch of guys with 3:34-35 SBs. Yes Nuguse won easily but he’s at top form whereas Hocker is coming off injury.
To the how fast can Nuguse go Q… the answer is fast. You don’t win by that much unless you are very fit and likely have some in the tank.

It depends upon the context of the convo. For example, suppose an athlete has a PB of 4:08.8, and if someone were to say “He is in 4:05-4:06 -ish shape”, and the athlete then runs a 4:06.57, the “I told you so,” would not be out of line.

Lol you’re a loony if you really believe 3:32.9 is not a 3:32 or if you think winning a race by nearly two seconds is as optimal as chasing 3:30 guys. You don’t understand the sport so we are done here.

I agree ..I think this is a good day for Hocker, the season cannot go on forever for anyone, I think many are on the "other" side. But Hocker just dropped 2+ seconds in 5 days or so. Had he not gotten hurt, he would have been fine this year again.

Good race. Looked like Kessler got involved in some elbowing and surging early after getting left at the start line in a big field. Might have cost him later.
Good race for Hocker. He ran a good bit extra going widefrom 100-200 to get in a good spot but then was patient and timed his kick well. He was probably ~55-high and 28-flat the last 200 but Nuguse was way too far clear and strong.
Nuguse had a 56.7 last lap from my look at it, ran solo the last 450 or so and still had energy to finish hard through the line. Definitely in great shape. Would’ve been fun to see him in Lausanne though I doubt he got the invite.
