Its just hard to feel sorry for her when shes milked the being a victim for so long and then tried to get a cash grab from nike. Not saying she wasnt a victim of some sort, but im saying there are so many worst evils in the world and being involved in a community that you claim led to your abuse, might not be the best for youre mental health. It will be a constant reminder if your allegations against nike and Salazaar were true.
Not saying we dont wish her well, but maybe she should step out of public light. If a public figure this scrutiny of her charity will happen.
I genuinely like Mary and sincerely hope that Atalanta succeeds. With the proper backing (which they had, not sure how stable that is now), the right athletes (again, which they had...), and the right public presence (which they are seriously missing), this can be a successful program that opens the doors for women who otherwise wouldn't have a chance to run professionally.

I forget the exact wording, but there's a line I hear in Bojack Horseman that goes something like "you stop maturing at the age when you first became famous." Mary Cain went to the world Championships when she was 17, and it was a big deal, with featured coverage in mainstream sports publications.
I don't hate her (and I think anyone who legitimately does hate her has some issues) but I do believe that her early success stunted her psychological development. That time in your late teens and early 20s is when you learn who you really are, and how much grit you have, and it seems to me like she just skipped that phase.
I look at their website every now and then, and whoever is in charge of updating it (if anyone) hasn't even bothered to update the "Our Youth Team" which (I just looked) still says:
"Our mentoring program is designed for girls aged 12-20 that are interested in learning from our professional runners about the power of community, education, and movement. Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 sessions will be held in NYC, and virtual youth program sessions will be available for all in during Summer 2022."
Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 !!!! LOL! We are almost up to Fall 2022 !!!
And there still has been no explanation on why, if you donate, the money goes to NYC Pioneer Club, Inc and not AtalantaNYC.
Also, still no posting of the required 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit filed forms.
However, as of the time of this post, the site does list Tracksmith as a sponsor on the "Donate" page, but not on the "Team" page. Go figure.
Just a shoddy operation.
Just a follow up....
Also (as of just now) on AtalantaNYC's website under "About" then "Our Training Team", Jon Green is still listed as a coach that you can get monthly training plans from. But Jon Green left Atalanta months ago.
I haven't donated to AtalantaNYC, but I wouldn't be happy if I did donate because I supported their stated missions and a year later have seen any mention of accomplishing any of the things that I thought might be a good thing.
I remember reading something that Mary Cain said a few years ago about it being "ridiculous" that running companies did not publicize how much they were paying the runners that they hired. Apparently, Ms. Cain does not apply that belief to her own organization.
Unlike some others who have posted, I do not think that there is any intended fraud with AtalantaNYC. My take on it is that several women (and yes, it was mostly women, and the organization is targeted towards women) got together over some wine and lattes and thought it would be a great idea to set up an organization like this. They got some sponsers (mostly with Mary's pull, I would guess), set up a flashy website and got some publicity and press.
They patted themselves on the back and declared the whole thing a success. However, when the time came when actual work was to be done on the project, no one did anything and the original goals were completely forgotten and neglected.
If no one with the organization had any plans to actually follow through on the concept, what was the point of the whole thing, except a mutual self congratulatory feel good session?
The COO practiced complex litigation for several major law firms. I think he knows more about this stuff than you noobs claiming fraud.
That actually makes it more likely it is fraud as opposed to simple negligence. Some runner stooge might accidentally defraud donors because they don't know any better. This COO does know better and there are still no public filings. That is the definition of fraud, not a mistake.
Tracksmith supports Central Park Track Club and Brooklyn Track Club in NYC. There is no need for them to support a non-performing club that doesn't meet minimum competitive standards.
However, if the racist and sexist incels on Letsrun feel ostracized by Tracksmith, as evidenced on this thread, they are doing something right. Go snag some Black Rifle Coffee hoodies and start your own "anti-woke" club.
I'll add a comment that the first time I noticed Mary Cain was when she was like 15-16 years old and ran a 33 minute 10000 at Tufts University or somewhere in Mass. Super fast, but I was like, who the f*k has a high school girl running a 10000? So part of the premature breakdown is due to her high school coaching, which handed her off to Salazar and NOP. She seems to have been pushed from an early age, before NOP which compounded a "too much, too soon" problem that was already developing.

And I too am a lawyer, and I deal with tax law and white collar crime,,, and I think there is a great chance that this will appear in an audit. Someonesend 600.01 to mary cain personally so she gets auditted and then they look at atalnata
Also When your transfer multiple firms its because you never quite made the cut for partner so you kept trying.... Thats all that means, its actually not as impressive as you think it sounds

Exactly, no public filings, shelling at donated money to athletes and not doing what they promised for the community,,, FAIL FAIL FAIL
-The team page has over 9,500 followers and Mary Cain has over 74,000 followers on IG. Yet since posting about a fundraiser on 7/27 to raise funds for their work with kids, they’ve only raised $290 of the $500. Though it kind of makes sense after having seen how bad / cringy Mary Cain is on her Instagram. Horrible videos…
-If they’re offering a 60k salary, professional work experience, living in NYC, and being a “pro runner” at the same time…how have they not attracted any one? The recruitment for pro squads is just about up and they have nothing.
All in all, I don’t think it’s a serious financial scam or anything. It’s just a poorly executed project by an in experienced team. Poor race results / no race results at all, no real information or actions about specifically mentoring young girls, and really just a project to keep Mary Cain busy.

How can you say Mary Cain's team is inexperienced when it has Allyson Felix on the board of directors wearing a ton of medals and that business tycoon as CEO with the photo that makes him look like he's a Wolf of Wall Street?

Wait, both Allyson Felix and that Roth tycoon looking guy are board members on Atalanta, Mary Cain is CEO.

Allyson felix has opened herself up to liabilities she probably didnt even think of being a board member
