Do you guys think great oak boys and girls team seem to be fading away too? boys finished 5th at Woodbridge and would have finished only 8th (lower than last year’s nationals finish) if Jesuit LA/OR and Newbury Park raced. There are some others missing too I’m sure. They returned so many guys and now they have 5 seniors on varsity. The Cortez guy that lead the team last year isn’t doing as well as expected either. I don’t think they even have a front runner this year.
I expected the girls team to be a lot better after losing almost nobody

Agree that the Great Oak girls have been underwhelming this year so far. I think people keep them in mind due to past success, and not actual current performance. The guys team, on the other hand, could do some good things this year.
I expected the GO boys to have a better season than the season they have now.
At the first meet they almost lost to some random team.
It seems like they are fading away.
They only got 5th at Woodbridge . they got 7th at nationals last year. They only lost 3 guys and they have guys filling in for the pieces that they lost. But it doesn’t seem like they will do better this year. They lost to Granada. They should be able to get an at large if they get 3rd in the merge. Newbury Park, Jesuit or, La, Carmel and Rocky Mountain weren’t even in this race.
Next year they will struggle to go to NXN even with an at large.
Ventura and Trabuco Hills look to be the best teams in ca.
Other candidates will be Dana Hills (well coached team that returns their 1-4), Mira Costa and San Clemente which return quite a bit and they were missing some guys from races this year.
Loyola has a strong trio returning next year but they will need a 4/5 to have a chance to make it
1-4 CA teams seem accurate Do you guys think Campolindo deserves to be #5? They got a strong 1-3 but their 4/5 are really far behind. Campolindo is 120th based on 3-mile times. Ventura might crack the top 5 at the end of the season. And #1 next year. fasthorse was their #1 last year but didn’t race well at Woodbridge. Clovis is another team that could crack the top 5 if they close the 3-5 gap.
Boys Regional Rankings - 9/22/2022By Doug Binder, DyeStat EditorLast weekend's Southern Showcase in Huntsville, Ala. provided a big reveal for the quality of pack at Jesuit of New Orleans, which split 26 seconds on five score...
Los Altos of the CCS beat Complinda easily at the De La Lasse International last Saturday without its #4. Los Altos is becoming very good Lil Soobrian isn’t to far behind her 10:17 sister. Los Altos 3-6 run in very tight pack. It reminds me of 2019 Great Oak men’s team.
