She absolutely will. The US women sprinters are mediocre again this year. I don't understand what has been going on with them. Jamaica has three world class women sprinters. The USA has one. WTH!

10.87 Cambrea Sturgis 10.88 Melissa Jefferson 10.92 Abby Steiner 10.94 TeeTee Terry 10.95 Aleia Hobbs 10.98 Morolake Akinosun 10.98 Shania Collins 10.99 Brittany Brown 11.00 Gabby Thomas
Sturgis, Hobbs, TeeTee Terry are not consistent. I had high hopes for Sturgis after her last year at NCAA. Let's see what happens if she finds the form she had at NCAA finals. It's not looking promising thus far.

In the W 1500 NBC only showed the race for first and second. 🙄
would love to know how the battle in the chase pack went down aside from GDS and Sinclaire coming out on top
also why doesn’t karissa run the 15 and then Move up in up in distance? With her 4 flat PR she definitely has a shot
Schweizer ran that 4:00 in a perfectly controlled time trial in peak shape where she had Shelby Houlihan as a pacer. Really couldn't be better conditions to run fast.
Assuming peak fitness based off of her PRs, a 4:00 runner with poor 800 speed is going to struggle in tactical races, might not always make a world final in the 1500, and will be guaranteed to fill out 8th-12th. If its fast, theres still 8-10 sub 4 women in the race; if its tactical then you're screwed. A 14:26 5k woman with 4:00 1500 chops is a lock for a world final and on a lucky day, with the right field could stick their nose into a medal conversation. Definitely an outside shot (insert "so you're saying there's a chance"), but a still there's hope. Stranger things have happened.
That's the calculus. If she can get back to her peak, the best possible outcome in a 5000 is all the stars align and she can steal a bronze. To do that in the 1500 she needs to run 3:54-3:57.
De Grasse is in trouble. 10.2 is fine to run in April. But it's almost June now and he hasn't even ran the world standard in any event. He looks extremely tight every race. No flow.
Idk if he is “in trouble”, but he does seem ragged, like he’s running on some sort of defective cruise control.
I know he went 19.6 and 9.8 and has done nothing but improve, but I don’t see anything significant from him this year. He may have been eclipsed, but you just never know with him.
It’s an interesting question on Schweizer but if your first priority is making USA teams she should go 5k/10k as she does. Domestically there are a lot of sub-4:02 1500m contenders (Purrier, now Johnson, McGee, Schlachtenhalfen, Osika, Grace, Hiltz, Norris, MacLean) but not as many sub-14:45/31:00 women (her Cranny and Monson with Sisson to the roads). The 1500 is also more of a crapshoot tactically. As far as globally you could argue she has a better chance finishing high in the 1500 though that might not even be true with Ethiopia, Australia and Great Britain being absolutely loaded right now and Kipyegon/Hassan/GDS.
This. It's like damn if we want to focus on gaining US fans, pay some attention to the Americans! No respect for Emma and Courtney. And I wish that they would have a clock running as the rest of the field finishes so that we could at least get an idea of how they did and who got passed at the end. They could do a separate window to do that while we get the usual shot of the finishers gasping for air.
