You realize how bitter and jealous this sounds, right? Everyone who was better than me was using drugs! But lol I had better things to do during the Olympics anyway! And now they’re all losers and I’m doing great! If we’re making doping accusations, by your own admission you were around drugs and hanging around people doing PEDs? And you didn’t report them? Sounds like maybe you were the one with something to hide and on drugs. (See, anyone can manufacture an accusation out of anything with no proof other than “I just think so.”)
Nobody is particularly arguing that Sha’Carri’s behaviour is good, or that she’s a role model, or that they love her. I think she’s acting like a clown and squandering her talent while making a series of terrible choices. I also think she needs mental health help - she had a suicide attempt in high school, has deep abandonment issues with her mother, and clearly can’t cope with the pressure of stardom. And it’s sad to see it playing out in public. But none of that therefore “proves” that any time beyond 11.3 means she must be doping, simply because you decided so with no credible explanation.
The difference is that I would like to see her grow up, overcome her personal issues, stop acting like an a** on social media and live out her talent. I would like all runners to have satisfying careers and run great times and give us entertaining races. And most of this board, not just for her but for every runner, seems to delight in and wish for runners to fail.
For people that claim to love track and running, people on this board hate seeing athletes succeed and get off on tearing everyone down. You’ll pick a few faves for a moment, but then overhype them, expect way too much, and turn on them the moment they “fail.” It’s bitter and toxic and ridiculous.
