I'm trying to keep an open mind but I can't ignore data on Strava.
Greg Nance is Running 3071 miles - from Atlantic to Pacific for youth mental health. runfarfoundation.com
Calls himself an ultra runner and is currently in Iowa running about 40+ miles per day.
He is moving at very consistent paces on all his runs and is recording the data on a Garmin Enduro. (I've never used the watch but I'm impressed with the newer Garmin's data collection)
My question is how is his HR on these runs average 100 BMP on solo runs but when folks join him his watch provides a higher BMP. There are hills, west winds, heat, humidity, and his gear seems to be a clothing layer with a Nathan vest. Take a look and see if there is some inconsistencies.
Day 9 - Is when he leaves the mountains and then runs 50 miles with a 109 HR with 3622 of elevation change.
Day 10 - 105 HR
Day 12- 134 HR
Day 13 - 143 HR on what seemed to be easy terrain but a HR average = 143. Ran with a friend.
Day 15 -105 HR for 40 miles.
His first few days through the mountains looks legit but I'm not sure about the watch. You guys get my point and can look at everything from the start. Solid effort. Am I overthinking this? Even the great distance guys do not operation with this low of a HR. Thoughts?
