Well my daddy come on the 0hio works
When he come home from world war two
Now the yards just scrap and rubble
He said, "Them big boys did what Hitler couldn't do"

Jo 89 wrote: The Ballad of Ira Hayes was a cover version performed by Dylan.Good catch. I feel stupid for mentioning that one now. I was scrolling through albums looking for song titles in the genre, and didn't think to double check which songs he wrote - the other ones I mentioned are his, and there are plenty more in the same vein. He wrote (or adapted/arranged differently) probably 95% of all the songs he recorded (so usually my assumption would be safe), but there are some good covers of other songwriters' tunes. Personally, I like his version of Froggie Went a Courtin'.

I will, I will she sighed to my request
And then she tossed her mane while my resolve was put to the test
Then drowned in desire, our souls on fire
I lead the way to the funeral pyre
And without a thought of the consequence
I gave in to my decadence
She told me to come but I was already there

Get up, stand up (by Bob Marley)
Most people think,
Great God will come from the skies,
Take away everything
And make everybody feel high.
But if you know what life is worth,
You will look for yours on earth:
And now you see the light,
You stand up for your rights. jah!
