I'm starting to drink Josh Kerr's kool-aid. US distance is just downright disappointing. This year especially even including those competing overseas rn.
Taryn was just barely in the 1500, got 4th with only a second off her PR, and now she's in the 5k?? What the hell? how can that possibly be enough recovery? AND she's in front?
Hocker didn't look great tonight, but I'll give him a pass until pre next week. Would like to see him look more like his old self there
He looked terrible! Think back 12 months ago, he would have spanked everybody in this race. Was it his kit? He looks a little heavy to me? Seriously, think what you want, but this was a disaster. I’m sorry to be so extreme, but I was under the delusion that Cole was going to give Jakob a run on home soil. No, that was delusional!!

Idk I was enjoying US distance until this meet. I'm treating this as a one off, hopefully Pre and the US 10k trials gives us something interesting.

I miss his kick :(
Hopefully this is just his first outdoor 1500 rust buster. He needed to lose to Nuguse and Teare outdoors last year once to ignite his fire. Hopefully losing to Gourley and Tanner this week accomplishes a similar response. I still could see Teare beating Hocker by >2 secs at pre but then losing to him at the trials.
Moh falls and DNF but wasn't looking great before he fell. Josh Thompson DNF. Didn't see what happened to him. Jager's performance somehow the best of the night for BTC.
So Ahmed - an Olympic silver medallist is in the slow heat - but Grijalva is in the top heat? Please explain this to me.
Are you cancelling the podcast tomorrow? Hard to spend time on this dumpster fire and find much to be excited about. I was so pumped and we’ve bounced from mediocre to dreadful and back.

Me too. He used to have that video game speed, now he looks very very average. Maybe someone overcorrected his form or something? I don't get it.

Seriously, his closing 150 from last year is gone?? Like no hint of it. How can this be? Sahlman has a far better close now.

I'm just on hopium that he is still within a huge training block and is peaking for trials and worlds rather than caring about pre. Regardless, I also wanted to see his deadly hip swivel last 150m.
