They shouldn’t have had a friend of Strickland’s write the Outside article but he ain’t responsible for the murder and they didn’t need a biased article to arrive at that conclusion.
You ever heard of how "child soldiers" are brainwashed? The New Yorker article from a couple months back is completely different compared to the propaganda piece written by the close friend of Colin Strickland for Outside:
"She came to regret her decision. Rockwell told me that Strickland, impatient to advance, was “intensely manipulative.” His instinct was “to aggrandize himself and belittle other people.” She thought of herself as someone adept at racing up hills—a climber—but he told her that she was “nowhere near skinny enough” to think of herself that way."

The analogy seems to have went over your head like a Boeing 747. I'll simplify for you:
Colin Strickland = "The General"
Kaitlin Armstrong = "Child Soldiers"
Is it any wonder that Colin Strickland kept telling one of his numerous exes, Rockwell, that she is too fat? It's the psychology manipulation by Strickland to break her down, a classic military manipulation technique.

I already told you why the analogy was trash - Kaitlin Armstrong is not a child. How is that unclear? Don’t absolve her for this murder.
Armstrong does not look like the type that would be able to run and hide. Look at the terrible opsec she has getting caught on video. If Armstrong is not found soon, it is very likely that Colin Strickland could have done something to her given that it is he who bought and supplied her with the murder weapon.
Work of Fiction, did you abandon the quoted username 3-Way because you lost all credibility posting under it?

Guess what - Armstrong was found (and found guilty of murder). Not the dude.
“After the yoga ad and Armstrong's arrest, she was held in the Travis County Correctional Complex in Del Valle, Texas, where she made another attempt at escape. Two deputies were escorting her into a patrol car following a doctor's appointment when she broke free and ran away. She made it about a block before she was picked up by local police..”
Wasn't this case where they let her go or gave her the benefit of the doubt, then she escaped? I was concerned she had a disguise and made it to Mexico.
EDIT: same lady, glad they found her after the stakeout...clever, cunning woman had $$$$ plastic surgery to hide her face. I'm hoping they go after her sister too.
