Lmao someone should ask him what he thinks of Ramzi. Kiprop is a moron. Didn't he recently compete in an 800 and ran over 2? Yet doping doesn't work. What a buffoon.
Good point, and remember that he actually lost to another doper, who got later disqualified.
If Kiprop really thinks that "There's No Performance enhancing drug to run fast", then he should return "his" Gold to Ramzi.

I am in Kenya these days, and word among Kenyans is that Asbel K. ran 1:56/800 time trial, one month ago. Not bad, but still far from his best.
Wondering if he can move up to half marathons? General consensus is - probably not.
A.K. may be in denial, but we may never know. He has served his 4 years. Let him move on.
A good counter challenge would be to tell Kiprop to get a world/Olympic medal or break 3:30 without doping.
Lets dope someone like ingebrigsten to the gills and see how long that 3:26 stays relevant.
Its like having $900,000, stealing the last $100,000 and calling yourself a millionaire, only to taunt others by saying “you should all steal $100,000, I still bet most of you won’t be a millionaire”
To go further in my analogy and why this is so unfair:
Let’s say Nick Willis has $950,000. Nick however isn’t willing to steal any money, so Kiprop is now wealthier than him, and therefor wins the olympics and is the millionaire. If no stealing was allowed, Nick very well could have had a shot at winning.
Its not about what your average Joe could do on EPO. It’d be funny to see overweight middle aged men cranking sub 5 miles, but Kiprop is deflecting in this statement and he knows it. It’s about Kiprops competition. If that entire Olympic final was doped to the gills on EPO, Tren, Thyroid meds, whatever, would Kiprops performance have looked so impressive? Would he have even won?
Do you honestly believe that Ramzi and Kiprop were the only ones doping in that final?

This is probably the best point you have ever made here.

No, I'm pretty sure Willis was the only clean runner in the top 6 (inc Ramzi).
Still, it probably wasn't the dirtiest 1500m final, as EPO testing was having some effect (and subsequently caught both the gold and silver medalist).
But some people here would still get excited at Kiprop being the best of a dozen or so 3:35 (natural) Kenyan and Moroccan runners who were doping their heads off with EPO.
Where is Manangoi btw? Two years of apparently working his socks off to prove the doubters wrong, and he can't even make the Kenyan trials off of the EPO.
Let's not forget that Kiprop was once one of the most vocal Kenyan runners against doping. He's basically admitting it was all a sham to deflect any suspicion from him.
Another way of looking at it would be to say, if he thinks drugs are waste of time, why would he risk his reputation and legacy?
The correct answer to that question is that he doesn't think drugs are a waste of time, because he did risk his repuation and legacy using them. But I have this disturbing suspicion that the answer your loaded question demands, is that he never took drugs, because he thinks they are a waste of time.
re: "Kiprop effectively just ADMITTED his 3:26 was doped"
No he didn't.
It's the only intelligible conclusion to draw. He has spent the last four years claiming he did not dope. Now he is saying that 'did not dope' means 'EPO does not work', and that nobody else could run 3:26 on EPO.
#1- "There's No Performance enhancing drug to run fast. This is just a scam." Exactly. Drugs don't help anyone, but they do harm and kill many people.
#2- "Give all humans EPO & let them run a 3:26 in 1500m." Exactly Give drugs to the OP, to the Brojos, to all the drug worshipers and let them run 3:26. No, it's not going to happen. They're not going to be any faster than they've been in the past.
Canova never said anything nearly this stupid. Everyone knows that drugs can make more oxygen available to your muscles, which combats fatigue, at least to a (somewhat extreme) point. Canova has said that he gets athletes to that point without drugs, and that only lazy or misguided people believe they need a shortcut. But he acknowledges that shortcuts exist.

You guys don't understand language of other ethnicities. Kiprop is basically saying what Canova has stated for years with data: EPO does not improve performance of highly trained athletes. Let me guess, you all think Jakob would be a 3:24/12:29 guy on EPO?

Canova does not have that data. He says he did not coach doped athletes. If they weren't doping he has no data to compare with clean performances. He has not shown that EPO does not improve the performances of top athletes because he has no experience of training athletes who used EPO.
