Did anyone see the story about the 40 year old playing football at S. carolina? I thought the NCAA was better than the NAIA because it didn't allow 40 year olds to play?

Is South Carolina a D-I school? If so, maybe he plays for one of the branch campuses. I think D-I is the only level with an age limit... 28 y.o. at the beginning of the season. Maybe not, but I thought I heard or read it somewhere.
Nope, he is/was a gamecock(no sure if the season is over for them). And he has 6 kids, and has sold his story to a movie company.
I guess the NCAA D-I isn't so pure after all.

USC is a D-1 school, in the SEC division. The 40 yr-old guy you're talking about is a receiver, and he actually played a little bit this season...against Vanderbilt I think. He enrolled in USC after leaving the military to pursue his dual dream of a college education and to play football.
The age rule does not apply if you were in the military or on a religious mission.
