Yeah - that’s a bit cringe lol.

Tyler McCandless ran really fast … 2:11 or 2:12 at CIM in Altra. Like a 4 ounce shoe
This thread is dumb
Wrong. Vicoty wore ASICS and finished almost 1/2 mile ahead of Sara

Top American Frank Lara top American 2:11 debut in Altra's and Tiernan in Puma with a sub 61 and Biya Simbassa beat Rory while wearing Under Armor... I guess we should be wearing Altra's/Under Armor/Puma. Then Nike is 4th best and Hoka is at the end. Asics is also at the back since no one other than Hall wore them at the front.
4th place Japanese guy was wearing Puma too. Fastest ever in Pumas?
This. Feels like they have non-disparagement clause with Hoka. But that kind of throws Ben Rosario under the bus, as they are peddling some kind of narrative around "i felt i was stagnating, and changed things up, and that paid off". I guess technically they are still stagnating, but at a different level.
yep yep absolutely devastated...
The people who make titles like these are so cringe worthy. Just gotta have that attention huh.

The second place female was from NAZ wearing Hokas.
Yeah...10 minutes behind Keira...
Don’t get me started with the Hoka spikes. They are the worst MD spikes I’ve ever tried. They’re absolute garbage and any athlete that is with Hoka is just collecting a pay check.

Bro. That is minutes behind Nike and others. Enjoy mediocrity
It's way above mediocrity.

Forgetting another huge one: Hoka also let Kirubel Erassa go after the Olympic Cycle and he just ran #6 all time American Half + #2 American Debut Half.
nice!
How about ya'll just buy a pair of carbon rockets and vaporflys and compare them? I've worn both and I can honestly say without a doubt in my mind, the vaporflys are by far more superior in every way. The new high tech shoes & spikes produced by NIKE are changing the game, whether you wanna admit it or not.

Actually, Lara's performance in Altra is very impressive.
Is that the fastest marathon ever run in Altra?
That is truly astonishing. I am impressed. I don't even think I could complete a marathon in Altras; my legs would be trashed by mile 22.
Lara wore a pototype Alta racer rumored to be called the Vanish Carbon. 33mm stack with a super foam and carbon plate! Looks like a zero drop Vaporfly. The 2:11 debut is still fantastic but he was not at much (if any) of a disadvantage.
Oh really, had no idea who was wearing what. My hokas are easily the most comfortable training shoe I've ever ran in. Worth every penny of the 200 dollars I spent on them. Racing shoes isn't their primary market

Carbon Rocket? You don´t follow shoe development much, do you?

He actually used the Escalante Racer with the upper of a Vanish-R for marathons when he was with Altra (until the Vanish Carbon was being prototyped). So around 7 ounces. Kinda Altra’s equivalent of the old Boost-era Adios.
As an Altra-head I’m interested in the Vanish Carbon.
