The last 2 winters have been awful. I have a problem suddenly switching to all road running in Jan and Feb and hate the treadmill. What do you all do to keep on truckin?

You can pay a fee ($150, I think?)and use the Armory T&F center at 168th St. in the evenings. A nice option on bad weather days.
How "elite" are we talking, can you give me an idea? Do you run for a club in NYC or are you unattached?
I'm not elite and I don't run with a club. I just want to know what good local runners do since I'm sure they keep on training through the rough stuff. Thanks.
One important thing to note here is the the Central Park Loop is considered an emergency route for Police and Fire to get through the city - therefore it is one of if not the first things to get plowed...
True, been some lousy conditions the past 2 winters, but not a lot of options if the bridle path freezes over. Better strart "weaning" yourself witha few road runers per week to make the switchover less abrupt.
Chelsea Piers has an indoor 1/4 mile track and a 200m banked track. We do speed workouts every Monday and Wednesday nights at 7pm.
Wear trail shoes and sweat pants and run on the loop. What are you some kind of siss?
