Cale O’Day will never get the credit he deserves. Absolute menace on the streets (and in the sheets) who, as of October 27, 2023, will be a sub-15 5k guy. WWU got an elite talent who is versatile on the snowshoe course as well, great pickup
The day before Cale O’Day was a senior they were even better. They took second at RunningLane nationals. When he was a senior they didn’t even make it to NXN
Let’s not forget that Colorado Springs is a trashcan of a city. The setting is beautiful, but it’s undone by miles and miles of sprawl, chain restaurants and narrowminded people..
Next year Cheyenne Mountain will be very good. They won’t be losing many varsity guys (unlike the last 2 years when the varsity teams were “almost all seniors”) and they are returning these times from NXR:
15:11, 15:17, 16:14, 16:24, 16:33, 16:46
they also always seem to have guys pop out of nowhere
Last month USTFCCCA announced its high school cross country coaches of the year. Coach Sean O’Day was awarded that distinction for the state of Colorado. Cheyenne Mountain High School has won back to back state titles and in...
Most overrated team ever that thinks they were actually better than American Fork this year. What a joke of a team with no modesty.
Cheyenne Mountain could possibly (but not for sure) beat American Fork during XC 2024. Cheyenne Mountain returns their #1-4 from RunningLane ( including 2 low sticks (Collins and Le Roux)). They return 6 guys under 16:50 for 5k.
American Fork loses 6 varsity guys, but still, they return 4 sub-10 juniors and a 4:25 sophomore so you can’t count them out.

the poster is talking about American Fork 2023 when compared to Cheyenne Mountain 2021. It is clear that American Fork was the better team but the 2021 team is delusional
I dunno. Took second to Skyridge at RXC. Might be solid next year but Utah County is looking mighty fine
Curious about Skyridge's next couple years-- got a solid roster for 2024 but unsure about after that
For 2024 they return 4 guys from their top 7. They will need to find a 5th runner to step up though.
But they only have 2 sophs under 20:00 for 3 miles, and 0 freshmen on the roster.
Heard that Skyridge got a new head coach last fall.
In addition to the 4 guys they return from the RunningLane Top 7 squad, they also have a junior who ran a 4:36 1600 at the Snow Canyon invitational. If that can translate to XC, their top 5 is set for next season. He did run a 16:49 5k at NXR though.

Valor Christian is also in a similar situation.
Many people know that they got a new head coach in 2022, but they are getting yet another new head coach for XC next fall. Most of their varsity will be seniors. Just like at Skyridge. Looking to be their last chance to do something special next season.
