That's why I said there's more to the story. Doesn't make sense that a coach would turn away a five-minute mylar who is healthy and has potential to improve. Especially for no money...

What percentage would you say of girls never actually improve even though they get recruited and are technically on the team in college, must be high?
Just a guess, 40% of women's distance recruits never improve

Lindsey payne on Stanford xc team, having senior year prs of 507 and 1048....
Kinda interesting she's on team but coach won't even give a practice look at a 5 flat girl....
3 mile 16:15. That's like a 4:45 1600.

Yeah in 10grade... and then 20 seconds slower junior and senior.... and it's not it's xc wh knows, track times are legit
And she lost by 27 seconds with that 1615....
Anecdotes are bs
U show up sub five shape practice any team in the country
So what's the consensus?
I say 4:55 for 99%. But NC State right now or Stanford, I can't say for certain.
I posted this earlier and a bunch of you seemed to ignore it. Rosters are full of 5th and 6th year super seniors right now due to covid so there are less spots for 5:00 walk ons. Add in the roster reductions tied to strained athletic budgets and you have even less spots. Last, none of you mentioned super shoes which make a 5:00 now equivalent to a ~5:02 from several years ago.
Combine all of this and I bet there are 10-15 programs right now that would turn away a 5:00 miler depending on the circumstances around this PR. Still many other walk-on options from solid programs but the landscape has changed in the last 5 years…
What time will get you on every team though?

NC state just signed a girl who had prs of 510, 1050 at time of signing....
Shows that u guys r way overestimating how good u gotta be...
on NC state instagram... Caroline Murrell
If she got recruited then a 5min girl could cetainly walk on....
As long as you have a pulse than most schools will take on walkon women just so they fill the NCAA requirements for title IX
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
