He neg splitted that 3:53 and it sure was exciting to watch so let him run it back the same way to break 8:30. Anything faster than that is under negotiation.

64s and then dropping the 56 works out. But this is all guess work as we havent seen many sub 355 HS run a fast 2 mile.
Kessler ran the easiest-looking 8:39 (for 2 miles) I've ever seen last year the NSAF Meet of Champions. He sat on Sherry (I think) for like 6-7 laps before he went. I came away certain he could break LV's record but he just didn't care, it seems.

The best part od this is that it is possible that the best distance guys are Sherry or Harrision over 1500-2 miles. Hopefully they all stay healthy and we get a couple of epic races this spring.
Harrison is smooth and obviously talented but I'm not totally sold on him yet. I don't think he's shown us that he's improved much in 2 years since that 4:01 mile.
The top returners this year for the 1500/1600/1M (converted to 1600 time):
Gavin Sherry 4:01.88
Gary Martin 4:02.12
Zane Bergen 4:02.49
Colin Sahlman 4:03.44
Rheinhardt Harrison 4:04.58
and the 3000/3200/2M:
Colin Sahlman 8:43.42
Larry Edwards 8:43.68
Lex Young 8:43.71
Gavin Sherry 8:47.20
Rheinhardt Harrison 8:47.43
Honestly I think that even expecting Sahlman and Lex to improve 13 seconds from last year is a huge ask. So 4? Nah. But more power to them if they do.

In another thread someone claimed Brosnan has an ego. Anyone notice the I in that statement. Shouldn't he have said "There no reason all four of them can't break 8:30 this spring."
I agree with this take. Someone like Wetmore would of said “we” or even more likely “they.”
Let me take a group of rich kids altitude training for a month during the summer. Including two sets of insanely talented twins. I’m sure it wouldn’t be hard to replicate this success. Does he not realize it’s American high school? Meanwhile theres a hundred teenagers in East Africa faster than them.

Is the “two sets of twins” thing just a meme at this point, or THAT many of you this stupid?

You have to understand that the only exposure to any type of running information is through this site. Because of that, when someone passes poorly educated opinions as fact or just even plain makes things up, people here believe it. That’s all they know. It’s sad, but it’s true.
*exposure for most people on this board
Impressive but........someone list the runners and where they went to middle school. Was this the all too common thing of studs transferring in from other districts?

Harrision basically missed 1 season and was injured . Maybe he has thay break through maybe he doesnt. And the other guys on that list deserve love. those are fast times.
It is hard to predict improvement between years. Lots of people drop 15s from soph to junior yeat. A bunch also struggle. There is a decent amount of kids who run fast prs JR and dont run faster.
Why would he want to coach at the NCAA level?
The vast majority of great HS coaches have little to no interest in coaching at the college level. Newton, Green, Lange, and the Kranicks are just a few examples of extremely successful coaches who were perfectly happy to stay at the HS level.

Agreed I never get these comments the logic would follow that Al Carius (North Central) is a bad coach because he never had a d1 job.

An ego? He has full blown Trump-level narcissistic personality disorder.

Are you a psychiatrist? How did you make that diagnosis without actually doing an in person evaluation as is required?

There is more than enough evidence to make the diagnosis.
A bad coach? Who said all D1 coaches were bad? Who said high school coaches were bad? People are saying that he is great. That raises the question of why he isn't getting a job earning more. If you claim that some runner is the greatest in the country but he is an amateur, we would ask why he wouldn't want a $250k year salary.
Another person with Trump derangement syndrome. Better get that evaluated and checked out by a professional ASAP!
Too many people don’t realize that what makes one good at coaching one level will transfer to another.
I am a dude that ran on a team that the women’s team was the national champion twice. This is way back in the 90’s.
Our coach was. Cheese dick, man.
High School girls are up his chili. Bought into the not straightest rah, rah, rah craptastic
Trash imaginable.
If he’d gone to a D1 top 20 school they’d have laughed at his ass.
Apologies. Had a few too many and that was a horrible effort but you get the point.
😂
They have 2 sets of twins?
Please note without having to ask that Aaron and Colin are in different grades. Either one is really dumb/other one super smart or they aren't twins....
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
