How many years were you running before this? What sort of pace?

Get out of here troll
2 years, never really faster than a 10 minute pace. Yeah, that is how injury prone I am

That doesn't sound like enough to get hurt. It's barely even running pace; more like a fast walk.
Well the podiatrist diagnosed via MRI that I had osteoarthritis
Doctors always play it extremely safe because they don't want to be held liable. Do what you want to do. It's your life.

You are injury prone because you are skinny fat and were sedentary most of your teenage years, opting to spend your days on reddit instead of doing physical activity.
You have already been given good advice, to start walking, daily, for a year before you attempt to run.

Maybe you should try building up to running by walking regularly for 6-12 months. It's not difficult to walk 40+ miles a week.
Most people have some level of osteoarthritic changes in one or more locations on their body.

Steve o is correct again. Most doctors I work with (they’re all a$$holes) hate running so of course they’ll say don’t do it. Look at those fat fuc$s. They don’t have your body so tell them to take their vaccinations and shove them up their a$$. Get the right shoes and work on your hip stability. Fuc$ all doctors. Podiatrists are not real MDs.
I am not skinny fat. My BMI is low

Liar, you admitted to being skinny fat on Reddit. Should I post the link W?

I have pretty severe OA in a knee. My doc said I could run as long as I can manage/tolerate the pain. For me losing a little weight helped. I also started glucosamine. The studies are mixed, but I figured there is no harm. (Honestly not sure they have made much difference.)
You could also seek a second opinion. Too many docs say stop exercising.
David45, for the longest time you clamored and whined about how useless doctors were, and how MRIs and X-rays showed nothing. All of a sudden they show debilitating injuries. Something is sketchy. I smell a pungent smell of buffalo stench .
Well, it just scares me knowing my doctor is telling me to give up running

Here are my 2 cents based on dealing with my own similar ankle issue.
First of all MRI's are not 100% accurate by any stretch of the imagination and the results all depend on the person reading them (you'll get 8 different results/diagnoses if you go to 10 different clinics to get scanned).
I would agree that you should let pain be your governor. Work on your ankle/foot strength and mobility and try different shoes. As much as I don't love the last/shape of the Hokas they do seem to help more than any other shoes I've tried. Their max cushion models seem to help, but I do have to replace them rather frequently.
Look at your diet and eliminate all process foods and added sugar.
Lastly, I have had some success with taking collagen (more success than anything else) and occasionally take Ibuprofen/ ice after my runs to help with any inflammation.
Good luck!

Ain't that the truth. I would have missed many years of running had I directly followed my doctor's advice to the letter.
