You must be new here. Every big school knows exactly who they are going to hire before the job is posted. Do you not remember when Tennessee hired Ross 1 week after letting Beth go without a job post?
Also, Brosnan to UCLA is likely, but would be a nightmare. He’s a weird guy with no recruiting experience. High school to Power 5??
Ucla is different from UT… the UC system is a bastion of liberal ideals and one of those is equal opportunity employment (or at least the illusion of it). It is wild that they would be flying people in to interview, on tax payer money, for a job that technically doesn’t even exist. This is an outrage of unmeasurable magnitude.
Not new here. Been here since aught 8. As a tax payer I’m inclined to contact the AD about this. We have rules and laws. Newsom already up UCLA’s rear- the last coaches (Devin) “firing” is a fiasco and now this!? Zero chance this is above board regardless of who “knows” ADs want the Track team to cause no problems and be thankful - not bring potential lawsuits and attention of breaking California labor laws to its doorsteps during this transition to the Big10

I assume that's referring to the allegations against him.
What allegations and what evidence is there that he is not the coach at Milligan? His teams won both XC championships in the fall and are loaded again in 2022. Seems to be doing a good job.
Bro, he is currently the best coach in the sport… Newbury Park has no scholarships and look what he has done with that program… some on here say they would win the d3 national xc championship and probably qualify d1. Smart hire, if true, look for huge program improvements regardless of scholarship dollars.
Brosnan would be the worst hire... Good god that would be a mistake.. I'd laugh my butt off.
Why?
Seems to have a structured and successful program at NP. What does UCLA have to lose? Maybe they bring Helen W. back and hire Sean as assistant X-C/distance coach.

Hmmm....
They are telling athletes that they are shifting to a middle distance focus due in part to a decision that the weather isn't great for distance/XC training.
They are involving athletes in meeting potential candidates.

Bringing him in as an assistant is one thing, but making him head xc coach is a whole different animal.
RALEIGH - The NC State track & field program has brought Reuben McCoy on to its staff, as announced by head coaches Rollie Geiger and Laurie Henes on Friday. McCoy
This is the best they could do? Tiffin is a reputable, often national-level DII program and they hired the guy who got run out of town at no-name Minot State?
“Really, it is about being able to spend time with my family,” Brady said. “Texas A&M is a great institution and I had a great job. It has been one of the real joys of my life professionally. “But there was not much time for anything else. My son is at an age where I need to be around a little more. And I think my wife would be very appreciative if I have more chances to take her out for a date night. The work is just as tough and important. But I will have more flexibility in my personal schedule.”
