Lisa and Lesley Welch were/are identical twins...
One word: Bobs. Perhaps the best running twins of all time. So good, that they both share the name - Bob. Many times the Bobs carried Iona to the NCAA championships. I heard that if you smacked one Bob the other felt it. Also, if one was doing his girl, the other could feel it too. Word is that the Bobs are both going to be butt-doctors. Lord knows they have had lots of practice.
Most interesting thing to me is that in every set of racing twins I've seen, even when the two are very close in talent, the same one always wins. Weird.
I had two teammates in high school who were identical twins, both very good milers. During one dual meet that we were training through, both were tripling (mile, two-mile, relay) for a workout. I was standing at a gate near the track when one of the twins jogged past me toward the starting line just before the relay, glanced at me and said, "Finally my last event of the day." About a minute later, his brother ran by and said the exact same thing. Very weird.
Mary fagan who just won the US 50K title has a twin sister Liz who is a useful runner too.
I like "useful runner". Made me laugh out loud.
You've wrapped me in a cloak of confusion with that post. Kind of like how I feel after reading one of Legalizit's posts.
Karl Malone and Rodney King. Wait, I'm confused. They just look alike.
In addition to the Guiney twins from NJ who were mentioned earlier, there is also the Barber twins (Meliss and Mikele).
The Brewer twins from the Samford University girls team are suppose to be great runners also. Thats pretty cool that a school can get two great runners from the same family.
What about non-identical twins? Either same sex or brother and sister. Anyone know of any who were both accomplished runners?
The McRae brothers. They are fraternal twins, not identical. Two of the best around.
bs
the Hemingway brothers from Tufts were pretty good. Rod usually had the upper hand over Rich.
I heard they kicked butt on the writing front more so than running. must be something to do with the name.
