I recall seeing Mary with the Salazar family together at mass during that time in Portland. The defense may consider how her behaviors did not reflect that of a woman in great distress in that period.

They were praying to Jesus that Mary get her eating under control and stay on the team. It was an act of compassion!
After a while he'll settle, she'll get a couple million, they'll both move on.

This lawsuit is morally wrong.
People who get into severe car crashes or suffer from asbestos exposure from working too close to lead get $20M....because there were actual damages.
This case, in addition to being frivolous, is pure greed....because there were no actual damages.
A girl tried to become an elite athlete. She failed. Remember, she voluntarily put herself in an intense training environment and allegedly accepting the immense pressure required to perform. This is not like a job where you can simply get things done and go home. It is about your athletic performance. If you do not perform well, it is your fault.
Attempting to blame shift not only mocks other athletes who make true sacrifices, but it also reveals her moral degeneracy.
Most car crash victims get $20k unless they lose their legs.

She didn't like her HS team.
She didn't like her pro team.
Does she like her first job?
they should be very nervous. They're stuck with her forever unless she decides to let them go. They can never fire her.
What a joke. Same self-absorbed teenager throwing a tantrum. But, welcome to America where you can sue for anything.

I doubt Salazar is rich enough to agree to a couple of million dollars settlement.

Not only can you sue for anything, but you are celebrated for doing so.

Nike certainly is. They'll probably pony up the money to make it go away.
Used to be a fan, but that was a long time gone. I guess she'll be a victim for the rest of her life. What Ashame, So Sad!
The law profession is so noble. Stay away young people if you want to keep your soul.

Guys if you coach girls... be very very very careful because no matter what you say, it will turned against you.
Tell her the truth (you are too fat and heavy to be a high level distance runner, for example) and she will sue you.
Tell her a lie (sure everything is fine, just keep trying, you'll get there!), and you will be accused of not giving her the same level of attention that you give the males.
This. After Cain's video initially came out, a former college teammate of mine spoke out against my coach, making a social media post smearing him for suggesting her to lose weight after she gained 20 pounds in 6 months while she was injured.

Agree.
She needs to find a therapist instead.
She should sue her parents for letting Alberto be her west coast dad …

No. She wanted to return a year later after being with parents and friends. And how did he abuse her? He treated her better than 99% of professional athletes are treated by coaches. Ask any male NFL or NBA player.
When I played weight class football as a kid in the late 1970s (ages 8 to 12 -- both in Pop Warner and for my school), the guys that were on the edge of the weight limit had to get weighed in front of everyone the day before games and run laps if they ticked over the limit.
When I was in the Army, everyone had to line up and get weighed every three months after the PT test. If someone failed the weigh-in, they were put on probation and if they did not lose weight, were ultimately separated from the service.
Exactly! I guess she decided after taking the MCAT that medicine at a top school was out of her lane. It would be a lot less work to sue Nike going on to make a career out of virtue signaling.

In what way? I only read one post in this thread that didn't ridicule her.
Salazar is turning into Nike’s problem child.
Most companies cut those folks loose at some point……

but the army wasn't some kind of great place, or else you would have stayed in.

Ha! That's nothing. When I was a PoW in Vietnam, we had our food weighed in front of us! They filled a bucket with slop, 5lbs. Then dumped it in a trough and 40 guys ate like pigs. One time they caught Mikey trying to steal a bit extra—they cut his hands off! Kids these days, where do they get off?
