The American Psycho will win by large margins. It's all a dog and pony show, few are elected, mostly installed.
But it's cute you guys think your vote matters. I remember when I was 'green'...

Serious question: what has Newsome done that has been positive for California? Homelessness continues to rise with parts of cities taken over by homeless camps, crime is way up, illegal immigration is way up, unemployment is up, some of the highest taxes and cost of living in the country, both residents and companies are leaving in significant numbers, rolling blackouts, mandated business closures that cost people their jobs and businesses, just to name a few of California’s many problems . So what has Newsome done to benefit Californians and to improve any of these issues?
A governor doesn't control anything on your list and most of them, like cost of living and homelessness are problems for the cities. If Elder is elected do you believe he'll end rolling blackouts?
I bet he campaigned on those issues though.
Caitlin pulling %1 of the vote for you track fans.
As of 11:30 pm EDT
13 million expected votes
6.5 million to get NO or YES
7.6 million counted (58%)
5.6 millon yet to count (43%)
5.2 million NO (68.2%) > 1.3 million more NO needed for NO to win
2.4 million YES (31.6%) > 4.1 million more YES needed for YES to need
5.4 million yet to count, not 5.6 million
3 million votes down already from mail-ins. That's a BIG margin to make up.
This one's over. Money well spent by the GOP lol

Rs need to take over 75% of the remaining votes for NO to "win."
I voted no. Newsom isn't the greatest, but the Republicans running are total whackos. Like if the Republicans ran someone sane who based his policies on actual reality, you know stuff like science, the fact that we're in a pandemic, etc. then I might have considered a yes vote. These guys are worse than the least rational girlfriends I've ever had. Hell, before the vote was even counted or in person votes were cast Larry Elder was doing some looney tunes thing about election fraud.

My thoughts exactly. I was displeased with Newsom enough to take a flier on some random new guy with a centrist-enough platform. Instead we got the freak show.
Ah well, many places have already called the election. What a waste of time and money.

The problem is the mass of candidates. I voted NO for the simple reason that run a proper candidate for an actual election. Just a few people on the ballot, not 50+.
I voted YES on a recall and helped vote in Arnold S. years ago. He was a known quantity with moderate/conservative views, and he had enough business sense to not mess things up and actually listen to others on both sides. He is nothing like certain conservative governors of the day who think they are rulers who can create whatever law they want by edict or executive order. Too bad wan't born in the because he would have been a worth candidate for president.

The great thing for those who don't like Newsom is that when there is a real election for governor in 8 months you can actually vote him out of office the correct way at that time.
This recall thing is total BS... it a foolish idea and a flawed process.
True, and I voted no as well. But the Repubs really screwed up with this because now they have just strengthened Newsom's hand going into 2022. His popularity ratings were in free fall but this election mobilized his campaign organization and fund raising machine so now he comes into the election year with a lot more momentum and a bigger war chest.
The recall was nothing more than a test run for the Republicans. They just wanted to see how close they could get to the Democrats with some controversy over their heads. That woman throwing an egg at Elder tells it all. You really think he wants any kind of political smoke in that state or even a bigger stage?

Was there any central organization or forward thinking? I feel like this was a few rich Trumpers who farmed the small number of signatures needed and then went "now what."
Thankfully California is not turning into Texas and Florida.
Hey Texas and Florida, don’t drown in them hurricane waters!

Yeah, I probably giving them too much credit. But once it was on the ballot the state R party could have used the opportunity to try and inflict some real damage on Newsom. He was probably always going to win, but if he squeaked by on a small margin or a nail-biter it would have weakened him significantly . I guess the lack of any coherent campaign is support of "Yes" just shows the weakness of the R party in CA.

A recall is really a dangerous option for Californians. My understanding is were Newsome to be recalled, an absolute nut of a Republican could become governor of a very blue state. Newsom would blow out Elder if they competed in an actual election.
I didn't add "AMA" as that would open me up to questions such as whether I'm wearing a bra and panties or pick my nose while driving.
There was never any doubt.
What a waste of money. They should just make every registered Republican personally pay for this witch hunt.
Because you know what would have happened if it was somewhat close.
DEMOCRATS WIN AGAIN!

The answer was NOT CLOSE at all. This strengthens the left nationwide.
