How many high-profile elected officials in the USA are chosen with a single ballot plurality vote? I think none...
Maybe if there was an instant runoff with ranked choice or something it would make more sense.
But no, literally 19 people can take 5% of the vote and one person can take 6% and be governor.
It's a horrible system, not to mention that the threshold for recall signatures is so low that it's fairly easy to farm them whenever you want.
