Was running on the trail this morning. A very attractive girl came running the other direction. The kind who would usually just look straight ahead and not make eye contact. But for whatever reason she looked right at me when we passed each other and gave me a wave and a big smile and said "hey!" like we were old friends. Not only that, but I saw her again on the return leg of my out and back and got roughly the same greeting the second time.
At first this really made my morning. I never get attention from girls, and just being noticed and acknowledged made me sooo happy. But the more I thought about it, I realized how pathetic the situation really is. I realized that the fact that being smiled at by a girl in passing is enough to make my day is actually really depressing. So now I'm depressed about how happy this made me.
Made me think...what's it like to be the kind of guy who gets regular attention from girls? Like the type of guy who goes for a run or even just walks down the street and gets greeted by pretty girls regularly? Like I'm realizing that for normal people who aren't awkward and ugly, the interaction I had this morning probably happens multiple times per day and they think nothing of it. What's it like to be that guy?
Anyway, just feeling emotional and rambling I guess. Hope you all appreciate what you have and don't take it for granted (sorry if that's preachy lol).
