I think her withdrawal was a selfless act. Most superstar athletes are so pumped up with their monster egos that they cannot recognize when it isn't happening and they need to sub out. How many MLB pitchers have thrown one inning too many just based on ego? Biles had the presence and self awareness to recognize that she couldn't get it done and that she needed to hand it off to her teammates so she wouldn't bring the team down.
I have to hand it to you. That may be the greatest spin on quitting and wimping out that I have seen. I hope her teammates realize what a sacrifice she made by not performing.
In fact, I may call in at work tomorrow and tell everyone that counts on me that I'm not showing up because I'm trying to help them. I better not hear of any grumbling through the grapevine from some ingrate who had to cover for me. I'm in the running for employee of the year with the number of personal days I plan on taking.
