You are possibly correct on that and the fact that the Norwegian runner, Moen, is out now also, And he is also an ASICS runner runner might indicate that ASICS shoes may not be optimal for some particular athletes.
Personally I think that the shoes are fine but they offer less cushioning compared with the Nike super shoes. They give a “harder ride” - or some people would call them a very “responsive shoe.” The upside to that is that it’s bang bang bang but the downside is that it can produce injuries.
So in summary, I think it’s a “less forgiving shoe” compared with Nike, Adidas, Hoka, and other famous brands. If I’m wrong in my assessment, I stand corrected, but please show with evidence, even anecdotal.
