How do you actually gauge your effort? And get your percentages? I wouldn’t worry about percentages and a lot of that for your training, just be honest with yourself on easy days and for your workouts just hit the paces you’re supposed to but keep them honest. If it didn’t feel super comfortable acknowledge that but move on.
It’s good that you felt like you could do more but didn’t, that’s the goal of marathon pace eventually. Do not feel uncomfortable being in it. I’ve had a marathon pace explained to me like this, compared to the other paces you’re running it should feel like a really long tempo run with a 10K race at the end.
