So NOW can we officially drop the king bs?

this is a walking website?
wow great to see the two teammates help each other and qualify together. And also really good to see Kamworor recover so well from getting run over with such a strong performance. That has to be worth at least a 26:25 at sea level. The olympic 10k just got a whole lot spicier.
And yes ches got dropped but how many US runners would have stayed with that pace at 6k elevation? A big fat zero. Stop hating.

Fastest Weldon ever?
Really makes you wonder how old King Cheese is. He peaked about 4 years ago.

Ridiculous run by Kamworor, but it's in the shoes.
Cheserek just tried to hold on, but couldn't maintain the pace set by Rhonex Kipruto (DNF) and later Kamworor.
Just as Michel Boeting pointing out in twitter: a classic trials 10k.
third Weldon Kirui: 27.24
1st two auto qualified, third spot is selected by a committee.
Yeah, the shoes did it - sure 😂. Kamworor did nothing without those shoes. Can we have a race where just the shoes race each other?
Ches in Sketchers?
Really sad how one of the best college runners of all time was unable to make the transition to being a professional,
Y’all need to cut the dude some slack. I think this guy is far from done. And it would probably best benefit him if he were in a group of other competitive guys and a good system. Maybe he should spend some time training in Kenya with those guys and he can really get back to being who he was. Y’all quickly forget fresh out the gate as a pro dude was rocking it indoors. Or maybe he needs to go to Washington back with his college coaches.
So do the shoes just cancel the elevation difference? Seems pretty close to being the case.
NCAA conversion useless
Never understood the hype surrounding this guy. I mean, Salazar and Chapa, and Centrowitz and Pre were as fast or faster at Oregon than he was, and that was 40 years earlier.

Ches had a ton of NCAA titles though which makes a difference.
He wouldn't make the DMR team today.
He would be 3rd man on the XC team.

calling the guy "king" at this point is ironic. He has flopped as a pro.
(1) It's not irony in this case if it's sincere. (I'm not saying sincerity always defeats irony, but you're clearly just throwing around that term).
(2) He is one of the greatest collegiates in history. He will be King Ches forever.

He seemed unbeatable in college for a bit, like they didn't even need to run the races. Ches was going to win them all. His acceleration at the end of races was dusting people. As a pro, he ran 3:49 in 2018 and 13:04 in 2019. I wouldn't call that nothing. He's a very good athlete.
He's run 3:33, 3:49, 13:04, 27:23 since turning pro. Yeah, he's not good enough to make the Kenyan team, but if he were US citizen, he'd be in the running to make the team at 1500, 5000, and 10000. To say he hasn't made the transition to pro running is stupid.
Was the Kandie man there? Assuming Kimeli is racing in the 5000 not the 10,000...So the third spot could be a tough decision, though I don't think Rhonex deserves the benefit of the doubt.
People here are speculating that the winner ran a 26:25 equivalent. Was Ches about 55 seconds off that? Did he run a 27:20 equivalent and sort-of PR?
