Where are the squats? All I see is a guy lowering himself by an inch with some dead weight on his shoulders.
Besides he DOES box jumps.
This guy used to be a rugby player, competitive N.Irish level, in Belfast.
The former Scullion, pre serious marathon.
I wonder if he works out shirtless on the reg

Quarter squats are normal for runners and they have a higher correlation with running than full.
But man 110kg is light. That can't be much more than like 1.5x BW.
Why does he run for Ireland if he is from Northern Ireland? Shouldn't he run for Great Britain and Northern Ireland?
Scullion was not a competitive rugby player at the N.Irish level, he was at the same level of a Sunday league footballer or someone who plays Rec league in America.

Thanks to the Good Friday agreement which resulted from British imperialism and tyranny Scullion has the opportunity to run for GB or Ireland. With his 2:09 he’d make either team to be fair

People in N Ireland can have Irish citizenship. It’s a choice.

He would be a much bigger name if he ran for GB, but he also has the option to live and work anywhere in the EU when the running career comes to an end. I look forward to seeing where he finishes relative to Callum Hawkins in Tokyo.

Nonsense he’s be exactly where he is today in terms of fame.
I greatly regret the fact that the Taoufik Makhloufi quarter squat video has been removed from the net, as far as I can see.

+1. Googling it the other day only in vain.
Those are half-squats at best. Kinda like saying your a marathoner, but actually run half marathons.
An athletic distance runner and some Letsrunners instantly get triggered.
I wonder how much the 90 year old man who deadlifts 400+ lbs can squat. Not impressed with anyone who can't beat that, including me.
I really hate to pay but I have to go to a gym now to make sure I'm stronger than a 90 year old.

The actual history of the island of Ireland and its relationship with Britain is a bit more complex than that.

I couldn’t disagree more, pre-British settlement Ireland was provincial and divided as many developing nations were at the time. Post British settlement there’s been wars, rebellions and terrorism from both sides but that’s my personal opinion.

Callum Hawkins is much more famous than Scullion and only marginally faster. This is because GB-affiliation gives him more coverage (at home and abroad) through the BBC. Also, Northern Ireland athletes can compete in the Commonwealth Games, so he would have a genuine chance of a championship medal. Therefore, it’s pretty obvious he would be more famous if he ran for GB.

I've never seen this. Was it just squatting, or a full weight session? Was he just banging out half squats with like, considering how juiced up he is, 600lbs?
