I typically find her interviews annoying, but her announcing was great. I was pleasantly surprised and hope she gets more opportunities.

Kara was excellent .well prepared ,race back ground on competitors covered , and able to comment on live races as they unfold . Also , I was watching NBC as a non American , and she had a balanced cover of all athletes ,including the inter nationals. 💯 percent ,NBC producers trust her for the big events ,like the one in Tokyo.

Did anyone else listen go her yesterday?
She was fine, and better than most former runners I have heard try to fill that role.

He was poor and made major mistake in talking about Nikki Hiltz coming out as transgender, non-binary and then referred to Hiltz as "she" and "her" right after. That's a rojo level mistake.
I disagree. I use pronouns to refer to one’s sex, not gender, including for someone who has claimed not to know what gender she might feel like identifying as at any moment. When human beings soon start identifying as other species, I won’t affirm that delusion either.
You opened your mind so wide that your brain fell out.
Agreed, Kara did fine. She was no Kyle Merber, but with the bar set a bit low, she easily cleared it.
Beats solipsism, chief. It's a refreshing surprise that you looked away from the mirror long enough to watch the broadcast or took a break from self-love and navel-gazing to read something on a screen. Back into the safety of the freezer so you don't melt, precious one.

A charge of solipsism is inconsistent with a concern that Ms. Hiltz does not require radical surgery or “treatment” via wave after wave of poisons to restore her to health following her having been born into the wrong body. It is far, far, far easier to believe that she is mentally ill than that she was born into the wrong body. Yet your use of male pronouns for her, however well-intentioned, furthers this mental illness.

Agree. All she did was repeat cliches.

Who f-in knows what to call Hiltz in a woman's race. No one over 40 understands all that BS.
Every NOPer is a doper.
Kara is the best distance commentator I’ve heard so far on nbc. Please stay!
Agree, thought she did a great job.

She really is not very good but I guess there is no real harm.
I thought she did well. Listened to the 1500m race not realizing it was her until the end. Went back and re-listened to her again and thought she flowed well through the race.
Considering she is new, I thought Kara did a good job.
I've heard her say a few things that weren't accurate but that happens to everyone and I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt.
She's prepared and speaks confidently which I like.
Leigh Diffey I thought had a really bad broadcast. He needs to improve or not be the lead announcer for the Olympics. Ato was jumping in to try and save him a few times when he just went silent. I'd rather have him say "the runner in lane 7 whose name I don't know" than just be silent.
Like Kara say something once that wasn't accurate. I'm willing to forgive her. I like that better than silence. But the play by play guy can't go silent in a sprint race.

Actually it's not that big a deal according to Nikki.
I went and looked into this as I had heard that Nikki was fine with being called "she".
1) When Hiltz said she was transgender her instagram profile said her preferred pronouns were she/they.
Out Magazine:
"Hilitz, 26, who now uses she/they personal pronouns, went on to politely explain and define their gender identity for followers."
https://www.out.com/sports/2021/4/05/champion-runner-nikki-hiltz-comes-trans-and-nonbinary2) She has now changed that and said her preferred pronouns are they/them.
3) She did a Citius Mag podcast and said, "I would like to be called they, but if you mess up and say she /her it's not the end of the worId"
I'm sure the networks are looking for anyone else that is more fluid in their delivery, but there is a finite group of people to choose from. I'll take a little raw presentation over not being able to watch. I'm happy to be able to watch track and field on TV! Better than the podcast that she co-hosts, where shoe mostly comes across as a fan-girl of whomever is the guest. If she says "super excited" one more time...
Most of Letsrun hates her so I expected a negative review. Personally, I thought she did a decent job, clearly still getting used to commentating as it was her first time. She is plenty knowledgeable for the position.
Kara is fine but Carrie Tollefson, Deena Kastor and Dez are more genuine and thus, fluid in their delivery. Kara has this, “I’m trying to sound like a commentator,” feel to her; There’s no personality behind it. Also, when you listen to Doris Burke cover a basketball game, everyone else seems inferior.
Kara wins. OP loses.
