One week of restriction is a small price to pay for the life they've been living.

Before I left Sydney I bought a souvenir boomerang from a gift shop in the airport. I carried it in my backpack and on the plane.
We stopped in Auckland to change planes and customs confiscated my boomerang. This was upsetting to me.
The end

Dude you are straight up wrong. I’ve been to two separate indoor concerts and a cowboys game- all in Texas.
Far fewer alleged Covid deaths per capita in Texas than in lockdown states like NY, Mich, MA, NJ, RI, CT, PA and Cali.
How do you lockdown and mask enthusiasts explain that?

Texans have NOT experienced the same freedoms as New Zealanders over the past year. NOT. EVEN. CLOSE. Have there been concerts in TX with 20k+ crowds?! Kiwis have kicked Covid's ass and have experienced pretty much a normal life for months. Their ability to 'take one for the team' should be an example for all.
And the 'freedoms' you've enjoyed in TX as come at a cost... 150 deaths/100k, where NZ is .53/100k.
Texas can't even do a power grid right FFS.
Yes, crowds of much more have been allowed to gather in Texas. The Dallas Cowboys & Houston Texans have allowed 15k-30k fans to be at one place at one time.
I’ve also been to a couple of indoor concerts & one outdoor. Some simple googling and you can find they have been happening in the state for months.
Yeah, enjoy your NZ freedom- every time someone has the sniffles you shutdown entire cities. So free lol.

Comparing NZ to somewhere like Texas is a bit odd.
Tens of thousands dead of Covid and a disaster zone because it got cold.
Wow.
Perhaps throwing stones about natural diasters isn’t the best way to go. I seem to remember almost 200 people dying in NZ because of an earthquake back in 2011.
Sounds like subpar Kiwi construction cost lives to me.

Qantas is saying they're resuming international flights in fall. What's going to happen with a population that hasn't built up antibodies and isn't vaccinating, I wonder?
Hopefully nothing, but the hyper vigilant may nation them into chaos once they have a few dozen cases.

You probably fit the profile of one of those boomerang airplane hijackers we read about in the news all the time.

More lies. CA has notably lower death rate than TX. Comparing either to the states that bore the bring of the initial wave is comparing apple to orange. Also, my state, MD, is quite a bit lower as are plenty of states. TX has nothing to brag about.

New Zealanders have concerts, sporting events, etc. at FULL capacity. Whereas TX has limited attendance at events, yet you continue to think you've had more freedoms than Kiwis.
Simple Googling will show you that Kiwis have enjoyed much more freedoms than even the least restrictive Covid states in the U.S., while experiencing a fraction of the death rate.

I’m guessing there are no full capacity events in Auckland right now.

Not only are there not full capacity events in Auckland going on at the moment but there are also no full capacity events allowed anywhere in New Zealand as the country moves to level 2 restrictions.
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-newzealand/new-zealands-auckland-starts-second-covid-19-lockdown-this-month-idUSKCN2AR0PFKeep in mind this is the second lockdown in Auckland this month alone and one of several lockdowns in New Zealand that have occurred time and time again. So be skeptical if you have Kiwis or New Zealand apologists bragging about their superior "freedom" because it is a very fleeting form of freedom that the government has taken away time and time again over the past year.

And America doesn't have borders? America and New Zealand had the same number of cases initially that came from overseas. The spread and resultant death toll is an internal issue - Americans infecting Americans - and is directly affected by the public health response. And there America has totally dropped the ball. It corresponds with the sharp decline in average national intelligence. You can observe it here.

I prefer to be alive & free.
Can you host indoor events at 25% capacity without power? This seems to be a serious case of throwing stones from glass houses. NZ and Aus are the only "western" nations to even approach "freedom" in the past year. How many weeks of lockdown would you trade for months of zero restrictions? Honest question? In the US we went with zero weeks of lockdown for a year+ of restrictions... seems like less average freedom to me.

I went out last night to two bars and a restaurant, both indoors, in Houston, Texas. They all had power, running water, electricity and all seemed to be well over 25% capacity so I don’t know what you’re referring to.
I prefer no lockdowns and no restrictions— Texas hasn’t had a lockdown since the summer. New Zealand has locked down and restricted its citizens’ freedoms over and over again during the past year. The result has been maybe a couple of months of freedom (if they’re lucky)before losing it again (as seen with current lockdown).
