Does anybody actually know the criteria the committee is using to select the teams?
I have heard performance at conference is the biggest criteria being used but what if you dominate a weak conference? Will you be selected over a 2nd or 3rd in a P5?
Do indoor track performances get used?
History (last year)?

No.

Conference winners get in auto then it is filled with a few at large... likely some of those 2-3 power 5 schools will get in... most schools will have competed in 1-3 races other than conference so it will be pretty obvious who should still get in... I would image a few teams that should/would have made it with a normal regionals will be left behind but not contenders for a top finish will miss out.
Indy may even be a bit easier to qualify this year if you are on a team that doesn’t make it in a strong conference. -
No. The individual winners not the teams. Crappy teams are not going. There is only room for 31. They aren't leaving Michigan out for some team that we have never heard of.

Just watch, the committee will overlook some quality teams, politics will be at play.
This is really flawed, but I suppose we should be happy we are even having a meet.
I think the individuals selected is where you will see some real travesties and some bullsh*t go down.

There are only 6 individual at large picks so they will all be absolute studs.

It’s just based off of performances throughout the year.

Simple:
Committee selects the 31 teams. They've said they will consider/weigh conference the most. But fall/spring will all count. Bad races matter. No "b team" excuses.
Individuals will be mostly selected by top conference finisher NOT on a qualifying team. Then there's a small handful of individuals selected at large. This number may change depending on how many conferences actually happen.
