Who are you?
Who Who
Who Who
The letter A is correct. Although I do like to partake of the beverage, John Walker rules. He was one of my heroes growing up, and even have his autograph on a program. Great hair, great miler!
When I hear John Walker I think of two things: 3:49 and Him getting beat by Quenton Cassidy in 3:52 at the climax of Once A Runner.
ya, but he won in the olympics...and it looks to reamain the only olympic champion, because return to carthage is never coming out

That's probably because "Return to Carthage" was never something Parker wrote.

i am not so sure he ever wrote "AGAIN to carthage" either. :)
i do not know if this is still true, but at on time walker was the only person to have ever run 100 sub 4 min miles.
Steve Scott also ran over a 100 sub 4's . I think he ran more than John Walker but JW did it first.
Steve suggested to John that they both get to 99 and then race against one another for the 100th, but John was further down his career than Steve was and was in greater need of the publicity. During the winter of '85 (southern hemisphere summer) John went on a tear, pumping out sub4s, and then broke the 100th in NZ, in Christchurch. Look at what he did that winter:
15 Dec 84 Christchurch 3:56.02
18 Dec 84 Auckland (NSB) 3:56.50
1 Jan 85 Tauranga 3:58.8 m
5 Jan 85 Auckland (MS) 3:54.88
13 Jan 85 Hastings 3:56.8 m
18 Jan 85 Los Angeles 3:57.56 i
19 Jan 85 Johnson City 3:55.55 i
25 Jan 85 New York 3:55.14 i
27 Jan 85 Rosemont 3:59.39 i
10 Feb 85 Christchurch 3:56.30
13 Feb 85 Wanganui 3:54.9 m
17 Feb 85 Auckland (MS) 3:54.57
2 Mar 85 Auckland (MS) 3:53.99
Steve ran his 100th sub4 at San Jose City College in the Bruce Jenner Invite on 25/May/1985. Steve ended up with 136 Sub4s, to Walker's 126.

can you post a link to a blond john walker?
it is dirty blond- dark blond. he certainly has parkinson's. i remember stories from one of my mates of how walker used to run in the parks in scandinavia during the summer with his wrap around shades so he could stare at the girls without being noticed. another funny story about him is from one of my american friends who was a top miler during walker's time. it seems that walker had apparently slept with some girl (there were track groupies back in those days if you can fathom it) and she was relentless in her pursuit of him. he would always be on the lookout for this girl when he and my mate went out on the town in whatever city that was holding a meet. twice they had to duck out of some restaurant when he noticed her come in!
The latter would be WalTON.
See him on video (or better yet, in person) sometime and then you'll be sure, too.
blonde, though not bright

learn something new everyday.
as far as \"walTON\" in OAR it said one name, but it \"really\" was walker.
Oh, because it's a true story? Or maybe because Walker is one of those rare individuals who can actually participate in fictitious events imagined by someone else? I guess Shorter really did answer QC's question under the bleachers at that indoor meet.
As someone who had the pleasure of seeing Johnny run many times and had the even greater pleasure of running with him, he most certainly has blonde hair.
Definitely Blonde - I should know as my walls were covered with his posters in highschool and college - I agree with the 'dirty blonde' that is really more accurate. He was in Vancouver 2 years ago for the celbration of the 5oth aniversary of the MIRICLE Mile - he is still dirty blonde
