or 'if you have a garage and you buy a new gasoline car you are probably an idiot'
Which electric car should I look at if I want to replace my current 38 mpg gas car. Keep in mind I typically put on 30K on this vehicle. I need this car for numerous 500 - 700 mile one way road trips. I will not have time to stop and charge the car until I reach my destination, and even then I'm concerned about finding charging stations, but willing to listen and learn.
You should look at the Tesla Model 3. 350 mile range, 20 minutes to get an 80% charge at a Supercharger. You should probably be taking longer rest stops than that anyway - not healthy to be sitting in a car for 10- 12 hours straight, eating food out of your lap. Sit down, eat a real meal, stretch the legs, maybe go for a run. Don't tell me you don't have any extra time baked into your schedule- how do you deal with traffic and other delays? With the mileage you do you'll save a crap ton on fuel and maintenance too. Hell, you could even spring for the Model S (400 mile range) and probably still come out ahead.
